piisfish 135 #1 March 10, 2004 just a little question : should the bridle of the reserve chute be lengthened ? Is it already long enough as standard or in the future, should there also be longer bridles for this specific discipline ?? or is it admitted that the spring has enough force to pull the reserve pilotchute out of the burble created by the wingsuit ?scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM

diablopilot 2 #4 March 10, 2004 The reserve bridal (as well as the rest of the reseve system) has been tested and TSO'd. I know it can not be leagaly changed by the user. I don't think it should be changed without major amounts of testing and recertification. Edit: I agree with Sparky. It works, don't fix it.---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

piisfish 135 #6 March 11, 2004 QuoteThe reserve bridal (as well as the rest of the reseve system) has been tested and TSO'd. So have the bridles for the main, right ??? Just asking, and in any case wouldn't do it myself... It was just a question. But apparently as in the 1st answer, the bridle is already approx 13ft long...scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM
pbla4024 0 #7 March 11, 2004 I don't think so. As I know, only reserves and containers must be TSO'd. Am I right? Fido
KellyF 16 #8 March 11, 2004 Main bridles are not TSO'ed, and pretty much any time you have to use your reserve with a wingsuit, the burble created by the suit will be minimal. This isdue to the fact that you will have (unless you have a total) already initiated deployment of your main and "quit flying" the suit. In the event of a total, even if you are coming from a clean flying position, when you reach to pull your reserve handle, you may go a bit head down, which will help the reserve pilot chute get into clean air. As with any new discipline, there are probably several scenarios that have not been realized, or have not occured, so it is good to ask these types of questions, but I don't think the reserve bridle length will be an issue.VSE on Facebook

pchapman 262 #10 March 14, 2004 Quote The reserve PC bridle on Vector 3 is already 13 feet long. For the Vector II, for example, the manual lists 15.5 or 18.5 ft depending on canopy & rig size. (Actually the Vector III manual states the same, but I can't say either way what is currently the practice.)

If you get them longer, you might impact before the bridle is in tension... scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM
