New Wisconsin CReW Record!!!

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone!

Today on August 14th, 2009, history was made!!!

A CReW formation, piloted by Jim Rassmussen, was created with 14 people in it. The 14 were: Jim Rassmussen, Dave Holmvik, John Bechtel, Tom Stewart, Chad Neidigh, Francois Huot, Chico, Jason "Maverick" Smith, Eric Gallan, "Hairy" Bob Felt, Jeremy Olexa, "Funky" T LaVonne, Linda Ruiz, and Mike Lewis. After The 14 way was built, videographer April Schuldt managed to get in on the bottom of the formation and successfully build a 15-way! Which is now the new CReW record for the state of Wisconsin!!!

The people on the load were safe and built the formation successfully.

Great Job to all on the 14 way and Great Job to April for coming in and beating last year's record!

Blue Skies to Everyone from us at the 2nd Annual Wisconsin CReW Boogie!
-Natawhis Schuldt (April's Son)

P.S. We got video, so it DID happen! Hahaha

Just an update...
Saturday morning, they completed a 25 way diamond to set a new record. Then, just to allow others in on the record, they completed another 25 way diamond using the few jumpers not on the first attempt. Crew dogs are the greatest!

April promised to post some pics soon....

Actually, there were five records set at this Boogie. Don't forget that we set a CRW record on the Friday night (15 way). This record lasted until the following morning, when it was surpassed by the 25 way. The 15 way, surpassed the 14 way we did last year. It was only possible because we had the cameraperson (April) docked on the bottom of the formation. 15 jumpers was the limit for the one PAC 750 we had on Friday. We couldn't go bigger until the second PAC arrived for Saturday.

So, the first 25 way diamond broke the 15 way record set earlier that weekend(great job April). The second 25 way was completed on the same day (within a couple hours)as the first, with a few different jumpers. How does the record then read? Are all the participants included on one record? Are there two seperate records??

I went on the uspa site and didn't find anything?? http://www.uspa.org/USPAMembers/RecordsAwards/ExistingRecords/State/tabid/453/Default.aspx

Just wondering??

The two 25-ways will count as they were done consecutively within 24hrs.

The 15-way was technically unofficial, since no one but Mike and I knew we were gonna break it, it wasn't declared or anything, just fun as hell!

Hey, I got my 12 hrs. of glory!!!! The ticker tape parade is still going on in my head and it's a bit hard to hear through all the applause! :P

Thanks to everyone who made it to WI. We missed all of you that couldn't.
Great vibes, weather, attitudes, enthusiasm, flying, video, organizers, landings (except for T-tree in the backyard!).

Really looking forward to next year, and yep, "we're gonna need a bigger boat"! Go big or go home!

Sky Knights, you all rock!

Love to all,
April
