silly question - cleaning LCD?

Recommended Posts

I realize it's pointless to clean the LCD on a camcorder since you're just going to have to touch it again and it will get covered in fingerprints again. But hypothetically, if you wanted to wipe all the fingerprints off, what would you use? I tried a cotton cloth and it just smeared them around. Was thinking of using one of the "wet-naps" I use on my lens but didn't know if it would be bad for the LCD.

there are a few products marketed for that specific purpose... i know there is a thread in here if i can just find it with sensor cleaning info and it just so happens that the company that makes the sensor cleaning kits also has the screen cleaning kits too.

It sounds silly but the best way to clean your screen is to put scotch tape over it and then take it off. It pulls off all the dirt and finger prints and doesn't leave a residue. Try it, you'll be surprised how well it works.
