vesku 0 #1 August 4, 2005 Hello! It seems that introduction-area is not a big hit to find audience. So I repost the URL here, as suggested by one parachuter. I am not a parachuter myself (at least, not yet and no plans has been made to change this) but I have been taking photos of landings in DZ EFRY, Finland. 'Dropzone' pictures: http://www.vesanopanen.net/galleries/air/dropzone/index.html Generally air/aviation related picture: http://www.vesanopanen.net/galleries/air/index.html And to see other kind of pictures, just go to : http://www.vesanopanen.net I would be happy to receive any feedback about pictures. Preferably about aviation/dropzone related. Thank you, Vesku (For some reason the first post on this Photo & Video forum disappeared , but if it did appear then other one is double and can be removed). StevePhelps 0 #2 August 4, 2005 I think your photos are VERY artistic! I bet they will be a big hit around the DZs you visit. Is your purpose to sell the pictures to the jumpers or to other outlets?
vesku 0 #3 August 4, 2005 QuoteI think your photos are VERY artistic! I bet they will be a big hit around the DZs you visit. Thank you. The reason I posted them here at dz.com is that I'd like to know if they seem good to parachuters internationally - or not. Quote Is your purpose to sell the pictures to the jumpers or to other outlets? I sell these (paper prints) to jumpers, at quite a low price (as would be compared to 'real' photographers). I would be happy to sell these to some other purposes (magazines) or even commercial use (for that I of course would need a permission from parachuter). But so far I have not had such luck. This is a hobby. I enjoy my time at the DZ and parachuters like to have their pictures taken and I learn more how to take pictures of them. :) Vesku

vesku 0 #7 August 4, 2005 Quote"this is a hobby" ?!?!?! Yes. Photography is one of my hobbies. The major one. Shooting ;) parachuters is fun aspect of it. Waiting a long time before they get onto plane (social usually), then waiting Cessna to climb up (sitting on the dropzone, looking for planes and waiting, silent (at evening usually), windy, looking at the sun.. Great feel and calmness for that part. Then parachuters come down and I take pictures per chuter in a matter of seconds.. You (both) either succeed or fail. Some shots are taken against clouds etc but that is before the actual moment of landing and is not that hectic. Vesku

jannu 0 #12 August 7, 2005 Like I told you Vesku, you'll get much better response on this forum than in Introductions... I'm always amazed how great your pictures look.. You definitely need to get airborne yourself too!!! Couple of hundred jumps and attach a camera on your helmet... voila!
