Still without quick release

Recommended Posts

Iwant to fix my Canon rebel 2000 on the top of my hawkeye. I don't plan on switching from 35mm to digital, so I don't think I need to use a qick release. So I figure to fix the still by the tripod screw, but how do I prevent it to move (turn) ?

Do a velcro on the lens is enought ??

Thanks...

And if you have pics of thaht part of your setup ... it would be appreciated ..

mine came with the quick release, but I suspect you can get a thin sheet at a Hobby Lobby (or craft store) Not too thick ... 1/8th inch maybe. Look for some that has a sticky side. Place that on the helmet. Screw the camera on top of it and the cork will help keep it steady.

Good luck!

Hi,

For my canon rebel still camera, I have cut a small plate of aluminium, drilled one hole in my flat-top helmet, cut a thin sheet of polystyrene and add tape above it. Screw your rebel until it cannot turn.

I unscrew mine when I only use my camcorder.

See the attached picture, you can't go wrong.
