GraficO 0 #1 November 26, 2003 just visited the Canon site and there is a new firmware update for the 10D. http://www.canon.co.jp/Imaging/EOS10D/10D_firmware-e.html GraficOGraficO "A Mind is a terrible thing to taste."
quade 3 #2 November 26, 2003 If your current set up is -working-, then y'all might wanna hold on for a few days and wait until a few other folks have played with the new software first. I'd check http://www.dpreview.com in a few days to see what other people's reactions are first.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver

ER...UH... moving parts in micro-drives and opening shocks... why in the world would you use a microdrive for freefall?!? Ask Eli from the Flyboyz... he killed a drive and his camera using a microdrive... Or maybe I'm insane here... Quade... care to comment? GraficOGraficO "A Mind is a terrible thing to taste." quade 3 #7 November 26, 2003 Quote Ask Eli from the Flyboyz... he killed a drive and his camera using a microdrive... Well, I don't know about killing his camera, but OB also found that micro-drives don't work too well in freefall. Even if the vibration and opening shocks didn't kill them, the change in air pressure surely would. Solid state chips are the way to go -- as far as freefall is concerned.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
skyfly 0 #8 November 28, 2003 If your camera is working - live it be. dont try to fix something that is not broken. seen too many situations that a firmware upgrade caused a perfectly good camera to go bad. and dont forget - canon is not responsible to anything caused by this upgrage... just my 2 centsBe Simple, Be Creative, Bee! XDV 0 #9 November 28, 2003 I think the same way as you skyfly.... and it doesn't fix anything important so I let it like he is!

Beer will kill a microdrive while cf or smart cards work fine after a little dip and dunk. Gotta go... plaything needs to spank me Feel the hate...
