Help wanted - Sony TRV33

Recommended Posts

Just got myself a Sony TRV33, my first digital video camera.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a IEEE1394 input card for a PC and decent video software to go along with it? The stuff that comes with the camera uses the PC's USB input and the software is pretty hokey, IMO.

No - I will NOT buy a Macintosh:(.

Have to say that the camera is pretty impressive for the price.

The Pinnacle Sudio DV package is a great starter set IMO. It comes with a card and cable, and the software will do everything you need unless you are looking at doing comercial work, and is super user friendly. It's pretty inexpensive too, in fact, probably the least expensive package I know of.

I have a RADON fire wire card. I like it really well. I edit with Premiere 6.5. I know there are a lot of people that have had trouble with it. I guess I am one of the lucky ones. I also have the dreaded 845 chip set that every one complains about. My system works great (thank you Cajones).
