Kirils 1 #1 January 10, 2003 Do the riser inserts require TSO status? Is a rigger required to install them?install them?"Slow down! You are too young to be moving that fast!" Old Man Crawfish
skymedic 0 #2 January 10, 2003 Riser inserts are not part of the reserve/harness/container system. so as I interpret the law no. it is a good idea to have a rigger tac them down. mine on my wings are not just yet. have over a hundred jumps on them and they have not moved at all. so ymmv. rigging65 0 #3 January 11, 2003 Risers aren't TSO'd, do anything you want to them...check that, ask your rigger what you can do to them, then ask HIM to please do what you'd like with them. We use old hard housings with an end pounded flat and ground down, then tacked in place...stay away from plastic inserts, they can crush or kink!
