PST Clean Sweep

Recommended Posts

No wanting to steal anyone's thunder, but had to post his.

As received via email:

Greetings from the 54th IPC/FAI Plennary Session in Fortaleza, Brazil;

It is now official !!!! PST organizers Lyle Presse and Jim Slaton have succeeded in their quest to have swooping accepted as a “World Cup” event. The event will be called Canopy Piloting, but the competition courses, rules, and general format of the event are as proposed by the PST. This process required that PST organizers personally provide a lot of time, effort and money to complete. However, in the end our proposal was unanimously accepted four different times during the process; twice at the USPA level, and twice at the IPC level.

There is now a lot of excitement about this new discipline at the international level for several reasons. First and foremost is probably because Canopy Piloting has already been pre-accepted by the World Games for 2005. This brings skydiving back to the pre-olympic level, which was lost some years ago, and no other discipline was able to regain. In addition, it has become obvious to the IPC delegates that Canopy Piloting has the ability to bring the exposure and sponsorship monies to our sport that has long been desired and is required to achieve the goals of the IPC, and event organizers.

We would like to express our thanks to the many people who have assisted in this process.

Faster horses, younger women, older whiskey, more money.

Why do they call it "Tourist Season" if we can't shoot them?
