larry 0 #1 August 26, 2002 Does anyone know of a place that does porosity testing on canopies? fudd 0 #2 August 26, 2002 Hi Here is an ide on howto build one yourself. Don't know how well it would work. The idea is to use a balloon (probably best with a big one) and se how fast the air flows out of it through the fabric by measuring the diameter of it. I think it would be a good idea to test the center cells topp and bottom fabric about 20" from the front. Try it on a brand new canopy and an old worn out one to get a reference. Any suggestion to improvements, how big the balloon should be, how much surface to test or howto build this?Does this seem like a good idea??? I did a little principle sketch. Sorry for the quality, but it's not easy on a laptop with a touchpad . -fudd There are only 10 types of people in the world. Those who understand binary, and those who don't.
