knucklesandwich 0 #1 August 10, 2012 I'd like to make a suggestion to make the dz locator easier to use. To be able to search by zip code for the nearest dz within the U.S. would be a tremendous help. When I'm traveling and looking for a dz, I currently have to pull up all the available dz's in the state I'm going to and know nothing about, grab the address, pull up google maps to find it and see if it may be nearby or not. Or I have to go onto a global navigation site, enter the grabbed address, get the long/lat and go back to dropzone.com to search by that. It's a bit of a hassle that could be easily resolved with an option to search by zip code to locate the nearest dropzones.
BIGUN 1,068 #2 August 13, 2012 A quick tip to cut the process in half for you: Put the name of the State/town/city you're going - in the search function (i.e., Dallas). It will pull up the list of DZ's closest to that town/city. Select one and then scroll down to the Google map function at the bottom of the same page and use the zoom function to see if it's close.Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard. knucklesandwich 0 #3 August 24, 2012 Thanks for the suggestion. Maybe I'm not seeing the obvious, but I've tried plunking in different cities' names into different search blocks on different pages under different search topics, everything. I can't get it to work like you are suggesting. It only worked once when I typed Richmond in as an example. Even then, it was pulling up dz's in Missouri as well. If it would work like you are suggesting, that would be great; I haven't figured it out yet. Any more suggestions? Or a more detailed instruction for that search method? I appreciate the help.
