NWFlyer 2 #1 February 2, 2006 I received this item for the Seattle Skydivers newsletter, but thought it might be of interest to folks here as well. QuoteLee Leavitt, a lifetime member of the Seattle Skydivers, passed away January 14th. Lee was a member of the US Team in 1963 and a champion of 10-second delay accuracy, using a 28 foot 1.6 canopy. He also designed the original club patch, a skydiver in freefall over-laying a custom 1.6 canopy. Leavitt also help design the Snohomish Jump Door. Prior to that time, jump aircraft did not have exit doors on them. He was co-owner of Skymotive Inc, a jump pilot for many years, a pilot for Snohomish County Search and Rescue, Honorary Life Member of the Everett Mountain Rescue Unit and recipient of the Charles Taylor "Master Mechanic Award" by the Department of Transportation (FAA) in 2004.
