Air France, and taking my rig as carry-on

Recommended Posts

Does anyone have experience with Air France and their policy on taking my rig allong as carry-on.
My rig is about 10kg (old chunky vector II) and this is within the 12kg limit, but I'm not sure if the customs will allow me to carry it on me (in a gear-bag)

I'm traveling from Holland, via France to Russia (and back)
If anyone has a good or bad experience on any of these airports/countries...please let me know (I'm especialy worried about russia)

Have never flown with air france.
But always take my rig as carry on.
recently flown canada/states/portugal
no problem with any of them outbound or back.
I use a small sports bag that my rig is a tight fit in.
the rest of my gear gets checked in.
just check in early so you can deal with any problems.

Fear is that little darkroom where negatives are developed.
