pccoder 0 #1 February 22, 2004 Anyone know of any channels on cable/satellite that show any skydive competitions when they are happening or after the fact for that matter? PcCoder.net
Tink1717 2 #2 February 22, 2004 You would think that a network like ESPN2, who routinely carries events like Poker and Skate board games (nothing wrong with either of those) and Fantasy card games, would be interested in covering skydiving events. At the very least it would seem logical that they would cover the nationals and world games. But until we can get an audience of at least a million consumers, we won't get any air time.Skydivers don't knock on Death's door. They ring the bell and runaway... AdD 1 #3 February 22, 2004 Maybe everyone on DZ.com should write ESPN2 and complain. I think I would, if I was a subscriber..Life is ez On the dz Every jumper's dream 3 rigs and an airstream
gerryfuss 0 #4 February 22, 2004 I don't know about you guys, but boy do I get a rush off of watching such adrenaline filled sports like bowling, poker or billiards. Who needs skydiving when you have action packed sports likew that.
falxori 0 #5 February 22, 2004 its kinda sad. beside the celeb doing a tandem gig which happens every few weeks there's nothing. a TV show dedicated to extreme sports did one episode on skydiving. but you're right, there is an "extreme" sports channel that mostly shows snowboards, and wind surfing... never saw anything about skydiving. maybe its because people think we simply fall out of a plane and do nothing... o "Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero." EdC 0 #6 February 22, 2004 There was a show on The Science Channel recently on DirecTv called "Understanding", it was about risk takers. If you have DirecTV you can set it to search titles and descriptions of shows for certain keywords and it will alert you when something is coming up. I have mine set for skydiving and parachute. I had it set for sky but it kept bringing up crappy movies on the hallmark channel. Big Ed
pccoder 0 #7 February 22, 2004 This is an excellent idea. We should consider getting the DZ.com owners to start a petition on their homepage for something like this. We get enough votes, etc. and they can send this petition along with a request to ESPN. PcCoder.net

Vertifly 0 #9 February 23, 2004 I would still argue that we are the minority in that case. There are much more millions of bowling type people in America than the kind that jump out of airplanes. Unfortunately.
