First Jump- tandem $40 USD. ( best friend was on RWS probation, so I only paid the pilot for the ride up.

Second Tandem- $0 USD. (traded electrical work at DZ for a jump)

Static Line FJC- $ Case o beer (best friend was also the instructor for the course.)

First static Line Jump-$40 USD (again paid the pilot for ride, best friend was the JM)

Rest of the Static lines were also free, traded work and packed tandems for the jumps.

First rig $1500 USD. (Again instructor hooked me up with used dz gear)

All together was $1580, and alot of hard work at the DZ.

You work for Free? It still cost you something.

I only saw two people who used rental gear. Where are the rest? I know some people buy new gear vquickly but I thought more newer jumpers rented.

and you all forgot to add the $20 license fee:P

I started Jumping within a few weeks of quiting smoking. My budget didnt change much, but I only didone jumped every three weeks ish due to living 350 miles from the DZ..

hehe

nice thread. something to look forward to for us newbies anyway. i've spent about a grand to do half my AFF and then stop. starting again in a couple of weeks.

what i was mainly posting for is to ask why i haven't seen some of you add beer purchases??? i thought this was a real tradition in skydiving hum?

It is $20 for the license fee, but also $49 for the year membership.

It didn't cost me anything, I traded labor for a jump.
