Net neutrality

Recommended Posts

As many of you have probably noticed net-neutrality is being attacked again. If you don't know what it is, net-neutrality means that all internet traffic must be treated the same by internet service providers. No traffic can be given preferential treatment or slowed down.

Who I am, why i'm advocating for net-neutrality. I'm a former Navy Information Technician where I worked with military intel. I have a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering and currently earning my Masters in Public Administration with a focus on Policy Analysis. Repealing net-neutrality is bad for everyone except large internet service providers like Comcast, AT&T, and Verizon. It does not matter if you are a democrat, republican, or independent, repealing net-neutrality is bad for everyone. If you don't take my word for it more informative links are below.

**What can happen:**

**What you can do about it:**

Email the members of the FCC panel, write a physical letter, call and e-mail your representatives, sign petitions, and spread awareness. Listed in order of effectiveness. Urge your representative to introduce a bill that makes the internet a public utility. That is the only way to stop the repudiative attacks on net neutrality.

These are the emails of the 5 people on the FCC roster. These are the five people deciding the future of the internet.
We need convince three of the other members to flip to a No vote to save Net Neutrality.

**Skydiving analogies**

Paying more for free flying jump tickets than RW or vice versa. Being restricted to a 206 instead of the Otter for certain jump types. Some drop zones only allowing certain types of containers at there drop zone or requiring you to pay extra to use a different manufactures equipment.

**Questions**

If you have an questions please ask, policy analysis is one of the things I do.

my letter to congress this morning, feel free to copy and paste:

The abandonment of Net Neutrality with the recent announcement of the FCC's intention to do so will be a disaster and result in only punishment on the American consumer.

I have NO IDEA where people come up with such stupid rules and then flower it up with speeches from Ajit Pai talking about innovation and such rubbish.

NO ONE is stopping the internet providers from innovating. NO ONE is stopping development. This is nothing more than a rule to allow internet content to be controlled, the speed to be throttled back and then to charge more money to get back the things we enjoy today.

There is NOTHING in this rule that provides a benefit to the American consumer and as our representative, I ask that you explain to us why such a rule would be allowed to proceed and why our Congress is not taking action to prevent it.

I have no idea when the last time was that Congress actually did something for the people of the USA. You are dismantling healthcare, increasing our spending, increasing our debt, removing our rights to sue big banks, and now taking away our ability to utilize the most important infrastructure used by almost everyone in the country every day.

STOP this rule. It does nothing for consumers and only demonstrates how Congress is owned by major corporations that line your pockets every day with campaign donations. It is truly sickening to see the attitude that Congress has and the absolute dismissing of the concerns of the american people.

Thanks, TK
I just used your letter for both senators and my congressman. If I had composed my own I would've come off as a blithering lunatic. Since all 3 are repulsive, uh, I mean republicans, I'll only come off as a lunatic.
