StoppieJoe 7 #1 December 24, 2016 He was a Father, Husband, Skydiver and friend to a lot of people. I didn't know him for long, but he was well liked around the dropzone, and I wish I would have gotten to know him better. Being around skydiving and BASE, you expect to see things happen. But I never expected to see Nick drive away after a successful day of skydiving and then get ripped away from this world by getting hit by a train in his truck while heading home to be with his family. It is insane. I was sitting there talking to him about his recent trip and his Christmas plans not even 30 minutes before he was gone. We are all going to miss you man. Fly free. StoppieJoe 7 #2 December 24, 2016 The railroad tracks are on the driveway to the dropzone. We all saw it happen and we were the first responders. You can see the train track curve around the west side of the airport. But I'm not sure where that elevated section is that you see in the news photos, so I'm not sure exactly which road crossing it was...
muff528 3 #6 December 28, 2016 The accident was not in Zhills. The track is between SR 39 and a small DZ just south of Blackwater Creek, a few miles south of Zephyrhills. Hillsborough County rather than Pasco.
psess1 0 #7 December 30, 2016 Nick was truly a super person. After anyone spoke with him they felt like he was their best friend. Nick was very devoted to his wife, his 3 girls, his family and his church. It has now been 1 week since his accident and it still does not seem real.... Memorial jump is being planned for later next month (Jan 2017) Missing you buddy.......
