NWA Pilot Alleges Boeing, ALPA Part Of Explosives Conspiracy

Suit Claims Remote-Controlled Charges Are Planted On 747-400s

Field McConnell flew for the Navy for 22 years, and has spent 28 years flying for Northwest Airlines. But he's making public accusations that Boeing and his own union are part of a conspiracy to plant remote-controlled explosives onboard the very 747-400 airliners he flies.

In his postings on a 9/11 conspiracy theorists website, the Minnesota rancher claims the 9/11 terrorist attacks are being covered up. As you might expect, representatives of the alleged conspirators are running the other way as fast as they can.

Air Line Pilots Association spokesman Pete Janhunen thinks McConnel sounds troubled. "Our senior lawyer and senior engineer both said that on its face, it’s an insane complaint."

"We take every threat to airline security and safety very seriously," he added. "In this case, we do not believe there’s any shred of evidence that the allegations about these Boeing airplanes are true, and the case should be immediately dismissed."

Boeing spokesman Tim Neale simply said, "There are no safety issues that go ignored. There’s just too much at stake."

Northwest has so far declined comment.

Now, McConnell has filed a lawsuit in Fargo’s federal court to expose an alleged conspiracy. "I think this lawsuit is opening a Pandora’s box," he told the West Central Tribune. "It will turn into a legal case that solves 9/11." He's seeking $4.5 million from Boeing and the union.

Which brings us to note... McConnell has reportedly filed for bankruptcy, and is seeking an early retirement from Northwest. He says he wants to move to a warmer climate, and "...do something more important than hauling 400 people to Hawaii."

Mr. McConnell, with due respect... we hate to break the news, but there's no such thing as a Section 8 discharge from a commercial airline.

I sure hope he isn't flying anymore. :|

I have been saying for the past few years that the next 'terrorist' airliner incident will be from a disgruntled/insane pilot. It has happened before. Two sucessful attempts (Silk Air and Egypt Air) and one miraculously foiled. (FedEx)

I have friends that are Flight Deck Officers and carry firearms in the cokpit. I think it is a very bad idea. With as disgruntled as Airline Pilots (and Astronauts) are right now, giving them a gun in case they go postal is probably not the best idea.

I avoid flying NWA if at all possible. Seems a bad idea to fly on a carrier whose employee population is so disgruntled. Wife used to work there, and I met quite a few employees over the years, very few of them have an overall positive attitude about NWA. Plus my own personal experiences with them have almost all been bad. Right up there with Dell in the couldn't-provide-much-worse-service-even-if-you-tried category.

Tough to avoid them in our locale, but I usually manage to do so.

I think you'd find the same results from employees of other airlines. I've known quite a few.

are you saying that airline union workers everywhere are equally disgruntled? perhaps that workers in almost every industry like to complain?

Even that most any worker would like more money? even when they think they get fair pay anyway?

say it isn't so?

It's such a glamour industry
