Tension knots on the main caused lines to break, the subsequent cutawaycaused the tandem pair to tumble during deployment of the reserve. lines got caught on the students feet and the pair rode in the horshoe like malfunction, they spun into the ground. The student died of his injuries at the hospital. and the instructor made it out with a compound fracture to his left femur and a broken arm ( i heard reports of pelvis fractures and possible minor internal injuries but this is unconfirmed.) at the scene the instructor was concious and talking. and he outright refused morphine. Both parties were transported by helicopter to local hospitals. and were taken in for surgery. the instructor is expected to make a full recovery.
