Andy9o8 0 #26 August 4, 2008 QuoteI'm a nerd, and I'm curious. Why are you descending slightly slower? The only reasons I can think of would be negligible differences (air density? Newtons third law (would that apply to unpowered aircraft?)). Basically. It's the same reason why terminal velocity in freefall tends to be slighly faster at higher altitudes than at lower ones. Or to put it another way, it's inversely correlated to why you fart in the plane on the ride up. (Disclaimer: I'm not a scientist by any means, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express.) NealFitz 0 #27 August 5, 2008 the way i have learnt it is not to look straight down but more of a 45 degree angle, and when i think i am at the point of flare, wait another second before braking evenly, on both sides of the canopy. and keep those toggles nice and even!!!!Dudeist Skydiver #170 You do not need a parachute to skydive, you only need one to skydive again
