another cover letter help request

Recommended Posts

I suck at cover letters to begin with but my question is this.....I'm trying to move out of state and would like to set up some interviews. The only problem is that a lot of places look for local candidates only. Is there a good way to make it clear to them in my cover letter that i will be moving there right away and I would not need relocation assistance?

Anyone else try to set up a job out of state before moving there? Any suggestions would be great!

You can either have your "relocating effective XYZ date" in your letter, or:

if it's gonna be a few or several weeks, visit the new place, get a PO box, and have it forwarded to you at your existing location. Go change your cell phone so it's local to your new area. Request 2 days or whatever notice for interviews. The address makes it appear you live there, and most people will call or email anyway.

Those are my "former recruiter" tips, anyway!

Good luck!!

:)
