Was playing with that wrist-cam I found at CES

Recommended Posts

And got a fun a few fun screen-caps out of it yesterday at Sebastian. Attached. The lines one kinda looks like a sea-creature. The camera will never replace a helmet-mount, but at a $50.00 price point, a lot of people will buy it.

Off to run Miami!

Just got another email - "Dude, I'll send you the hemlet attachment prototype when it's done."

Sweeeet. :D

Best part is I throw the SD card right from the cam into the laptop and the file is there waiting.

I have. It's not ready for skydiving yet. He's sending me a helmet mount. Will report back. Problem with it on the wrist is that wrists aren't as stable as heads.

Also sending me one with a wide angle lens. Will let you know.

I just tried out one of these yesterday:

http://www2.oregonscientific.com/shop/product.asp?cid=0&scid=77&pid=709#

Resolution options: 640x480, 320x240, 160x120
Framerate options: 15 fps, 30 fps

A 2GB flash card will last 1hr-13hrs, depending on framerate and resolution.

The waterproof housing is a blessing and a curse. The downside is that the microphone is inside a waterproof housing which muffles it badly. The audio I captured on a bike ride was the vibration conducted through the frame to the handlebar mount.
