Phosphorus8 0 #1 October 24, 2008 If you had purchease $1,000 worth of shares in Delta Airlines one year ago, you would have $49.00 today. If you had purchased $1,000 worth of shares in AIG one year ago, you would have $33.00 today. If you had purchased $1,000 worth of shares in Lehman Brothers one year ago you would have $0.00 today. But, if you had purchased $1,000 worth of beer one year ago, drank all the beer, then turned in the aluminum cans for recycling refund, you would have received $214.00. Based on the above, the best current investmenr plan is to drink heavily & recycle. It is called the 401-Keg. TFFTM 1 #2 October 24, 2008 Actually, to get technical... Figuring 24 cans per lb. Recycling prices are very low. The highest you would get is between .36 to .50 per lb. So 1000/24 * .36~.50 = 14.99 ~ 20.83. No if you live in a by back state figuring .05 ~ .10 per can = 50.00 ~ 100.00 but since those states pay a subsidy your potentially higher taxes would help pay for the fee. On the other hand 1000 beers would be a hell of alot more fun and in a few cases (No pun intended) still be more profitable. edit to add: assuming 1 beer = 1$ BSBD Home of the Alabama Gang

TFFTM 1 #5 October 24, 2008 Its not our tax dollars. With a 15,000 lb load or 360,000 cans we could get $18,000 versus $5400.00 ~ $7500.00 I'll drive.... BSBD Home of the Alabama Gang

Actually what people fail to realize is that it is worth no more or less untill you sell it! Any 10 year period in the stock market history has gained.... and 5 year period 97% has gained....in other words dont sale and it will come back up.Nothing opens like a Deere! You ignorant fool! nanook 1 #9 October 25, 2008 Unless of course it hits the Junk prices and gets kicked off Wall Street. I'm surprised GM hasn't been declared OTC yet. The company is probably too large._____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
