As a thank you to a few acts of Good Karma I performed, I was invited to hang out with the two pilots who pilot the 747 that flies the shuttle back as well as their families these past two days near Houston. I was there to do a speaking gig, and hung out with them after. While there, I met Dr. Nick Patrick, Steve Nagel, got to play in the Mockup of the Shuttle, crawl around a T-38, and in general, just have an amazing, life-altering time. It was truly a special 24 hours. I thought you'd want to see photos and video - www.shankman.com - Also, photos attached below.

This Geek was in heaven. :D

You shoulda called me -- I speak fluent NASA geek :)

Not that I'd've liked to climb around stuff or anything :P

There is nothing more dangerous than breaking a basic safety rule and getting away with it. It removes fear of the consequences and builds false confidence. (tbrown)
