happythoughts 0 #8 March 4, 2009 Ham and eggs are a good breakfast. Just fry it in a skillet, or put into an omelet. However, you can put a pound of ham in with a pound of pinto beans while at work. I soak the beans overnight first, and then rinse them before putting them in the pot. Cover the beans and ham with water. I add a small piece of salt pork too. Slow cook them 9-10 hours. A pan of corn bread is good too and easy to make. (better than ice cream)
LisaH 0 #9 March 4, 2009 Ham hocks and beans. Follow the recipe and instead of ham hocks, use the left over ham you have. Large, white lima beans are the best. Cornbread on the side. Be yourself! MooOOooOoo

happythoughts 0 #11 March 4, 2009 Quote Ya I do the ham and egg thing I was just looking for something new Thanks Bry I used to have 2 roommates. I would chop a 1 lb ham steak into 1 lb of beans and simmer it all day. A 9x12 pan of cornbread with real butter, and and a gallon of milk. We would have no leftovers.
