d123 1 #26 July 7, 2010 Driving fast from the land of threads&posts comes someone who introduced the concept of wrong to the 45 degree separation rule. Lads without any further introduction I give you the 2nd winner, yes, you know who it is, put your hand together for: Kallend, Whoop, Whoop, Whoop, Hooray!!!Lock, Dock and Two Smoking Barrelrolls! d123 1 #27 July 7, 2010 Another one: Presently a mother called "Mom" has 21 more years than her daughter. If in 6 years she will be 5 times older then her daughter where is the father and, bonus question: at what age should he bring her daughter to the slaughter? LOL! As usual serious answer in PM and goofy ones, well, goofy answers put them right here! If you can't be good baby then be bad!Lock, Dock and Two Smoking Barrelrolls! kallend 1,635 #28 July 7, 2010 There are three people in front of you. You know that: One of them knows everything, and always tells the truth. One of them also knows everything, but always lies. The third person knows nothing, but answers questions as if he knows the answers. His answers, however, are completely useless and could be right or wrong. What is the smallest number of "yes/no" questions needed to determine who is who, and what are the questions? PM your answers to d123 ... d123 1 #29 July 7, 2010 Forget to post the answer so I'll give you Kallend mail: For brevity, they are A, B, and A&B Take one from the box marked "A&B". Let it be an "A". Then since the box can't be "A&B" by the parameters of the puzzle it must actually be "A". We know the box labeled "B" can't be "B" from the parameters of the puzzle. We also now know it can't be "A" since the "A&B" labeled box is now known to be "A". The "B" labeled box must therefore be "A&B". So the box labeled "A" is actually "B". and heatmiser partial answer (but solid logic) Ask for something from the box labeled drugs and condoms. If you get drugs, then the remaining two boxes are Condoms, and Drugs and Condoms. The box labeled Condoms, actually contains drugs and condoms, and the box labeled drugs contains drugs and condoms.SmileLock, Dock and Two Smoking Barrelrolls! d123 1 #32 July 7, 2010 I got a maximum of 4 questions. In the worst case: 3 times the same question to eveyone to identify one of them and then another question to the one that I've identify to get the other two.Lock, Dock and Two Smoking Barrelrolls! d123 1 #33 July 7, 2010 Come on people, put your brain together and ask yourself how can we answer the last puzzle! Exchange PM, run scenarios. I'll give you a hint: what would each person answer to the question: "Hey, psssst, do you know everything?" Lock, Dock and Two Smoking Barrelrolls! d123 1 #34 July 8, 2010 Lets call the one that knows everything and tells the truth ET (everything truth), the one that knows everything and always lies EL (everything lies) and the guy who knows nothing but pretend to know everything (telling whatever or imitationg) W (whatever) To the question: Do you know everything? we will get ET: Yes! EL: No! W: Yes or No or Whatever. case 1: if we got 2 no answers (N shadows EL) and 1 yes answer then we know that the person who answered yes is the ET. We're going to ask him who's the other guy that knows everything and we got them all with 2 questions. case 2: if we got 2 yes answer (N shadows ET) and 1 no answer then we know that the person who answer no is the EL. We're going to ask him whos' the other guy that knows everything and since he's always lying we'll reverse the answer. case 3: it's all clear. the person who answered yes is the ET, the person who answered no is the EL and the other one is infected with bullshit(TM) and probably will become a manager or something like that Lock, Dock and Two Smoking Barrelrolls! kallend 1,635 #35 July 9, 2010 Clever, but you have used 4 questions if I understand correctly (one to each of them makes 3, and one more). There are 6 possible states: ET EL W EL ET W ET W EL W ET EL W EL ET EL W ET So provided you choose the questions carefully 3 questions is enough (2^3 > 6).... GaVak 0 #36 July 9, 2010 A man is found hanging by his neck in a room in his own mansion. The room was completly empty, save the man and the rope suspended 20' off the ground. All the windows and doos were locked from the inside, and there was no sign of tampering with any of them (the police had to break the door in). How did the man get his neck into the rope?Life doesn't need reasons, just participants. D.S.#
