Test Cypress Fires X2

Recommended Posts

Hey all this is just a bit of info on a test we just did last friday.

2-12 year old Cypress'.

Each dropped from 2000' AGL (over Ft. Campbell Kentucky)

Each device was in a standard sport rig and packed in the reserve just as you or I would jump it. The rig was attached to a 150lbs kit bag to simulate an unstable and unconcious jumper.

Each device fired as predicted 750' AGL and the PRO-Tracks that happed to be in each main lift web recorded a fully inflated landable parachute at 500' AGL.

Yeah... I have 2 cypresses over 12 years old now. They make great paperweights holding down my order for a pair of Vigils...

Jim Woolley, who now run AERO, uses them to fire off a test item that needs to be at a given speed. Put so much weight on it, kick it out and have the cypres fire at an altitude that equals that speed.
