theonlyski 3 #1 November 22, 2011 So, a Cirrus SR-20 costs about $200/hr to rent, they are fun to fly, but not my cup of tea... They have a full glass panel and really do a good job at making it look good, but what the hell happened to basic pilotage? THIS guy is blaming the GPS for leading him to a road that he then landed on, instead of landing at Pilot Country airport, which is just about 6000' to the west. Map Airport is to the left of the image, Citation Road to the right... theonlyski 3 #2 November 22, 2011 Also, just to show how funny my CFI is, I talked to him about this and said: Me: "Well, I'll try to not tarnish your reputation with something that dumb" Him: "At least be more creative!" Me: "Will do!" Its especially funny because I will be flying back into that airport in the next week or two! Hellis 0 #3 November 22, 2011 First I zoomed in on the road and thought: What an idiot! How could he miss all those houses right next to the street? That should be a clear sign something is wrong. Then I zoomed in on the airport... And if the runway was a bit narrower... Who lives that close to a runway anyway??!!
theonlyski 3 #4 November 22, 2011 The pilots, hence the name, "Pilot's country". My DZ is on a grass strip that's the same way.
