Can't buy smarts

So, a Cirrus SR-20 costs about $200/hr to rent, they are fun to fly, but not my cup of tea...

They have a full glass panel and really do a good job at making it look good, but what the hell happened to basic pilotage? THIS guy is blaming the GPS for leading him to a road that he then landed on, instead of landing at Pilot Country airport, which is just about 6000' to the west.

Also, just to show how funny my CFI is, I talked to him about this and said:

Me: "Well, I'll try to not tarnish your reputation with something that dumb"

Him: "At least be more creative!"

Me: "Will do!"



Its especially funny because I will be flying back into that airport in the next week or two!

First I zoomed in on the road and thought:
What an idiot! How could he miss all those houses right next to the street? That should be a clear sign something is wrong.

Then I zoomed in on the airport...
And if the runway was a bit narrower...
Who lives that close to a runway anyway??!!

The pilots, hence the name, "Pilot's country".

He landed on Citation Rd. That's the subdivision WAY over to the right... a mile away.
