JerryBaumchen 1,075 #4 November 27, 2012 Hi Chris, QuoteWhat was the Telsan Technique? The name came from a combination of Jacques Istel & Lew Sanborn. It was a training program that was condensed from the military multi-weeks program to just a few hours of training so that you could get people up and jumped in a commercial environment. Until then everyone just 'thought' that it took a number of weeks to train someone to make a parachute jump. JerryBaumchen

I had to bring my mother...and as it was in those days, staff at Orange started hitting on my mom...Long story short: got my fist rig from someone my mom met!But what do I know, "I only have one tandem jump." ChrisD 0 #11 December 17, 2012 Quote Hi Chris, I made my first jump in Feb '64; there were no waivers in those days. JerryBaumchen I just got John Carlson to sign my logbook. Some of the most memorable (positive) moments I've ever had were with YOU guys back in the 70s'. I wish I had my old logbook,...At Orange they gave out a handsome one and it was full of notes and such...from people like Dan P. He took the time to teach me how to pack...at Orange and then again more fully in Quincy. Howard, Don, and Butch, and a whole host more... I'm so glad for you guy's "back in the day" as you put it, and I'm ever more gratefull your still here!!! CBut what do I know, "I only have one tandem jump."
