old Talon rig pack volume question...

Recommended Posts

Lew,
The main should take a canopy around 475 cu. in. There should be a letter for the reserve container size. You can find it under the reserve protective flap up on the yoke.
I am guessing it is a C or D and that is around 400 cu. in.

I was able to find that... I was hoping someone could translate that into what size main and reserve so I didn't have to search around for it.

also, the reserve "tray size" and main "tray size" listed T7... that's it.

thanks

Thanks...

So should there ever be a Tempo 170 in a Talon T7?

thanks
lew

Lew,
I would say no. The Tempo 170 is under 400 cu. in. and the Raven III is over 500.

Thanks, that's what I thought.

How about that rig, with a Tempo 170 and a 190 main...?

Someone recently sold someone this complete rig...
...Then some rigger repacked the reserve and main and sent off this low-timer to jump it.........

"T7" implies that it is a second generation Talon, introduced in 1994 ('94 Talon, Talon 2, Talon 3, Talon FS).
I do not have the chart in front of me, but a Talon T7 is designed for a reserve larger than 190 square feet. Smaller reserves are not a big deal (excuse the pun) as long as you follow the closing loop lengths recommended in the manual.
Loose mains can become a problem.
