skymama 35 #2 July 23, 2003 Welcome to the forums! Seriously, go to the Dropzone listings on this site, and find the dz that is closest to you. You can either start by doing a tandem, which is where you are hooked up to another person and are basically just along for the ride, or you can go into student training. Each has its own merits, it all depends on which you are more comfortable with. There is a whole bunch of information on this site, and on the USPA site. She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon

slotperfect 7 #7 July 24, 2003 The Nike slogan comes to mind . . . JUST DO IT! You will love our sport, and DZ.com is a great place to satisfy at least part of your hunger for it while not at the DZ actively engaged in it. Good luck!Arrive Safely John
MikeTJumps 4 #8 July 24, 2003 You can gain a tremendous amount of knowledge of our sport by looking at the available introductory texts into the sport. Those are advertised many places. Go to your library and check under the subject heading "Skydiving" and you will find them. Your local skydiving center should also have books in their sale case.Mike Turoff Instructor Examiner, USPA Co-author of Parachuting, The Skydiver's Handbook
