sangiro 4 #1 August 30, 2002 Heya all, More and more flashing and animated avatars / user icons are showing up in the Dropzone.com forums. I thought I'd make my sentiments known about this. You don't see fast flashing graphics on Dropzone.com. There's a reason for that. I'm not particularly keen on them (gross understatement of the day!) and that goes for animated avatars as well. Banner ads on this site are not allowed a delay time of less than 5 seconds (500/100ths in delay controls) per image. And I'm not even keen on that! If you decide to add a user icon to your profile, resists the temptation to get something that flashes. Try to stick with a cool single graphic that will compliment and do justice to the look and feel of the rest of Dropzone.com. This goes to the subject matter of the icons as well. Remember, I'm effectively allowing everyone to publish to Dropzone.com and have some impact on how it looks. Be wise and considerate when exercising that privilege.
