Camera advice

Recommended Posts

Hello I need some advice.

A friend of mine landed in the water with my Sony Pc110 camera, obviously it is dead now.

I don't know much about cameras so I want to ask what are you using or what do you recommend for Base , cameras change a lot so if you recently bought one and could tell me about it that would be great.

Also are you guys using HDV cameras? I saw a Cannon HDV that looks nice and compact and below the $ 1000 dls.

I also noticed the cameras that don't use cassetes anymore , are they good.

Any info will be very apreciated.

Cheers
Gabo

Hey Gabo,
I would stay away from the HDD(Hard Drive) & DVD cameras that are out these days. They use a compression format that is less than desired for jumping.
Sony just came out with their HD5 and HD7. The HD7 looks like it will be the superior camera to have in the prosumer range. Check out the thread in photo/video. I hears the HC7 won the consumer electronic show's award for best camera last week. That pretty much says it all.

See you soon.....

P.S. I've heard good things about the canon, but the larger CMOS chip in the HC7 is gonna make all the difference in the world color-wise!!
