CYPRES Inspection

Recommended Posts

I was recently brought a rig for the first time. The CYPRES had to be sent back for an inspection. When I got it back, they indicated that the rigger that had installed the battery had pinched the wire under one of the battery cells, rather than keeping it in the channel between the cells.

How many people open the CYPRES battery door to verify proper battery installation as part of their standard inspection process?

I don't think that this is done on a regular basis - and it's not recommended either. Please open a Cypres1 battery casing only if a change is due or if something is unclear. There is for sure no safety gain if a Cypres would be opened 4 times for control reasons between each battery change.

Please act carefully when you change the batteries on a Cypres 1. The procedure is described in the Users Guide and also in the rigging section on our *new* website: www.cypres.cc

Kai,
i just took my cypres to SSK for it's 4 yr check, just out of curiosity what does the 4 year check entail. SSK is local for me so I just dropped it off. Do they send it back to Germany or do it at their facility? The turn around time is two weeks. Again, just curious.

P.S. SSK provides excellent service, I just didn't ask them the specifics 'cause I was in a hurry.
