rpersi 0 #1 August 22, 2006 Anyone fly lately and try taking a rig as carry on? Just curious if the recent tightened security will allow this.
Calvin19 0 #2 August 22, 2006 The only thing you should be ready for when carrying on a BASE specific rig, is unpacking it. there should be no problem at all with it. The stash bag fits in the carry on size constraint, and try to mail your hook knife, they let mine on last week, but i doubt they even noticed it. so, if they look at it, they might not let it go. I fly standby (freinds as airline pilots is awesome), so 100USD on way tickets worldwide is awsome, unless you cant walk.
bmsbase 0 #3 August 22, 2006 i have used the approach several times of carefully explaining to the booth guard and the tv/exray guard exactly what they are about to see go thru their machine and what it will look like (ie metal parts - 3ring hip rings and closing pin) . all trips have gone well and no repacks... & anyone who knows me knows thats a good thing as long as it takes me to pack that darn thing.blaine
