Jumpmunki 0 #1 February 13, 2004 wreck your gear? i'm talking about swoop pond type water as opposed to sea water. what would i have to do if i did get my kit wet?
payback462 0 #2 February 13, 2004 if it lands in fresh water (assuming most swoop ponds could be called fresh) the main and reserve need to be taken out and hung to dry leading edge down so the water can leak out of the nose. (out of the sun) also the container needs to be hung to dry. if cypress equipped the cypress should be taken out ASAP! many times after biffing in the pond with a cypress it will stay dry if you pop the reserve and pull it out immediatly, but if you leave it you could have problems!! after everything is throurougly dry, it needs to be inspected and repacked! now non-freshwater AKA saltwater or swamps is a whoooole nother story
TimDave 0 #3 February 13, 2004 I agree with all that and would add to try to have the canopy not touching the floor so the seams do not dry unevenly. Same for the lines keep some even tension for same reason.
