  1. Bruce..Great article.. Please have Tina compare the picture you have of Ted Braden and myself in 1962 in Perth Scotland in the Skydiver Magazine. I still say the FBI sketch of Cooper in sunglasses is Ted. You can disregard the SOG connection and knowledge of the 727 aircraft, that picture and the personality described by Tina is definitely Ted. The FBI could eliminate Braden with fingerprints and DNA. I do not think the FBI has any fingerprints or DNA of any kind. I feel they know the identity of DB Cooper, and are required by government policy to remain silent. That means we will probably never know the true identity of DB Cooper. I worked for Ted Braden for three years, and feel he did this just to prove he could, and not get caught. That is exactly what he did. Al Tyre
  2. Bruce..I agree with Jerry Thomas. BINGO.. I think you hit the nail on the head. Wish I could have been there for this years event.. Allen
  3. Thanks Bruce..After reading your report and the FBI's answers, it should obvious to anyone why this crime has never been solved after 40 years. Hope you received a packaged recently with a picture Braden and I in Perth, Scotland in 1962. Again, thanks for your effort in solving this case.
  4. In 1973 Ted was driving an 18 wheeler for Pittsburg Glass Co, Pittsburg, PA. I think his primary route was between Pittsburg and Nashville. The only markings on the tractor were the DOT numbers. The trailer was well marked with Pittsburg glass logos and etc. He appeared to be very content driving an 18 wheeler. Have a great day. Al
  5. The FBI sketch and a picture of Ted Braden are very similiar. I am surprised most folks have not compared the FBI sketch and a picture of him. The FBI could easily eliminate Ted Braden with his fingerprints in his military records. I wonder why the FBI has not answered the question of Ted Braden/Cooper with his fingerprints. The FBI supposedly eliminated a lot of the other suspects with fingerprints from the crime scene. I worked for Ted on the 8th Div. parachute team in Germany from 1961 to 1964, and the FBI sketch with sun classes looks just like him. The description given by the flight crew describes him.
  6. Hangdiver...I am not familiar with the jump you are referring to. I do not know if Braden spent any time on the west coast. Have a good day.. Al
  7. In parachute meets in Germany Ted would wear spit shinned cochran jump boots, and also the old french jump boot. He would wear starched black jump suit with his name on the right chest, and US Army on the left chest, and his PCA license number on his left sleeve. I have determined that it was in 73 when I saw Ted in the truck stop in Bowling Green. He was wearing slacks and a regular shirt. I do not remember the shoes. He did not appear happy or unhappy driving an 18 wheeler. Al
  8. RIP Ted..He was a fantastic individual, and had a heart of gold. He will be missed by all. Al
  9. That was my missunderstanding about the two captains escorting Ted to the Ft. Dix gate.. Thanks for the correction.
  10. Hello 377...I was on second tour in Vietman when Cooper made the jump. I had heard that jumps were made from the Air American 727's. I understand that during the skyjacking, CIA contacted the pilots by radio, and informed them the 727 could be jumped. Cooper knew the correct airspeed and altitude to fly in order to make a safe jump from that aircraft. SOG and CIA were the only folks making jumps from that aircraft at that time. I have heard, but cannot confirm that operational jumps were made from the 727.
  11. A numbers of individuals like myself that have known Braden for well over 50 years considered him a prime candidate to be Cooper. Ted went AWOL in 1967and later was dropped as a deserter. He was arrested by federal agents in Africa and placed in the stockade at Ft. Dix, NJ. The then Chief Of Staff of the Army, General Harold K. Johnson ordered Braden NOT be placed on trial in a court martial. He was given a discharge under honorable conditions, and escorted by two Captains to the Ft. Dix gate. The FBI could easily eliminate Braden by comparing his finger prints in his military records to the DB Cooper finger prints on their files. I have noticed they have not done that. I understand Braden was never investigated or questioned by the FBI. Maybe there is a good reason for that. I saw Ted Braden in 1975, and he was alive and well driving a 18 wheeler for Pittsburg Glass Co.
  12. The picture of Ted Braden is the same person I worked with in Germany on the Golden Arrows Parachute Team during the time period 1961 thru 1964.. Buckshot31, Allen (Al) Tyre.
  13. Ted was definitely capable of making the DB Cooper jump. I was on a trip and stopped at a truck stop on I-65 in Bowling Green, KY. By complete accident, I sit down at the counter and Ted was eating breakfast four individuals to my left. The death record is accurate. In Germany, Ted smoked Benson Hedges cigarettes. His wife's name was Patty. The FBI sketch with the sun glasses looks most like Ted.
  14. I worked for Ted B. Braden in Germany from 1961 to 1964. He was in charge of the 8th Division Golden Arrows Skydiving Team. The team consisted of four jumpers. Ted, Joe Saunders, Mike Howard, and myself. We competed in skydiving competitions all over Europe. I would definitely agree with JD's description of Ted. I accidently bumped into Ted in a truck stop in Bowling Green, KY in either 74 or 75. He was driving an 18 wheeler for Pittsburg Glass Co. We spent several hours together just talking over old times in Europe. In Germany, Ted was good friends with then Col Jack K. Singlaub, who later was in charge of SOG operations in the Pentagon. 15. I served on the 8th Division Skydiving Team (Golden Arrows) in BK, Germany from 1961 to 1964. Ted B. Braden was our supervisor. The team competed in parachute competitions all over Europe. The team consisted of Ted Braden, Joe Saunders, Mike Howard, and myself. I last saw Ted in a truck stop in Bowling Green, KY in either 1974 or 1975. We spent several hours together. He was driving an 18 wheeler for Pittsburg Glass Co, out of Pittsburg, PA. The FBI sketch looks alot like Ted. Allen (Allan) Tyre.
