  1. All: Couple of points: 1. The govenrment knows Cooper survived. To have former agents to opine that he died belies the logic that by now a body would have been recovered, chute found, more money found etc. The fact is that parachutists have jumped in way, way worse conditions. DB Cooper did live. The Government knows the guy might have been angry but he wasn't dumb in terms of aviation. Angry people can deal with 0 degree weather for a couple of minutes. 2. Knowing this fact forces more importance on this case to be solved. 3. Marla Cooper "didn't reach for the comic book after the DNA failed" That is false. Whether LD is Cooper or not, Marla presented a number of facts and it wasn't like she fell back on the comic book. The Bureau is simply not that stupid. She proceeded through local law enforcement and convinced them and they contacted the FBI. She was composed and articulate and didn't come of as nutty - which in credibility is very important. DO you all know how many people have claimed either to be DB Cooper of have relatives that they thought were DB Cooper? Lots more than on this crazy board let me assure you. 4. With the recent activity I am still confident the Government will name a suspect and close this case well before year end. Keep it tight.
  2. There are several instances of accomplices being prosecuted from aiding non-fatality bombings from the 1960s that the US Attorneys office pursued in the 1980s. I could not believe on air an attorney would tell Mr. Geestman a legal opinion on his immunity from prosecution. It was a shockingly reckless thing to say. He is not Mr. Geestman's attorney and therefore shouldn't be giving unsolicited counsel. Trust me, if DB Cooper announces himsel and his compadre - they will both face charges. However, since KC and Geestman didn't commit the crime, I guess its all good theater.
  3. An agressive US Attorney could get a ham sandwich indicted, but getting a conviction is another matter. An accomplice has an excellent chance of beating the case on a motion to dismiss based on an expired SOL. DBC is not as lucky, he is defintely proescutable today. There is Z E R O hard evidence that DBC had an accomplice waiting for him on the ground or working with him in any capacity. If there was such evidence the Asst. US Attorney who filed on Cooper as a John Doe would have also included the accomplice(s). You can't get an indictment based on pure speculation. There has to be evidence that a crime was committed by the accused suspect, even if the identity is not yet known. How could you make a case against even a John Doe accomplice? It would be 100% speculation. US Attorneys aren't gods (unless they jump) and State prosecutors and county DAs are not "schmucks" as you call them. Both offices have a wide range of talent. Quite a few federal prosecutors used to be DAs. The fed job is more attractive due to pay, stability and benefits, so you rarely see job hops in the other direction. Also, the federal system is just cleaner, no stale vomit in the hallways and holding cells, no graffitii carved in to the seat backs. The courtrooms are more expensively and gracefully appointed, no dirty floors, squalid restrooms or broken ventian blinds. But don't judge the book by its cover. Legal talent resides in both the mansions and the dirty alleys of the court systems. I've seen geniuses and fools in both venues. 377 I never said US Attorney are "gods" although compared with the average state's attorney or DA they are. I was merely stating I would listen to a TV Actor / attorney that admission to being an accomplice to a hijacking would be a non-prosecutable offense.
  4. Orange is right. DBC can be prosecuted today because he was indicted (as a John Doe) before the SOL cutoff date. If he had accomplices they are not. SOL has run out. Jo's copyright notices bug me too, but no worries. They are defective. This forum should confirm to the anarchistic legal standards associated with DZs. No liability, everything is waived, lawyers can jump, but can't practice their trade outside of dispensing free advice to fellow jumpers on how to beat spousal support modification motions. 377 This is one legal theory and is why it was reckless for the actor / supposed former prosecutor / attorney to be dispensing legal advice to KC's supposed accomplice on the History Channel's Detector's Show. Believe me - if the Government finds this guy he will be prosecuted. This is a federal crime and we are talking U.S. Attorneys not some schmuck State's Attorney or DA. I have heard there is yet another suspect to come out / being looked at in addition to LD Cooper. Things are moving.
  5. There's a statue of limitations for skyjacking? Seriously? I assumed most felonies had none. This is absolutely not true. The Government's position is based on the counts and status of the indictment. The Government based on the investigation could also assert other / new claims for a DB Cooper that was found / outed or announced. And for the so-called lawyer to be dispensing legal advice to KC's supposed accomplish on the Histoy Channel's Dectors show was silly, if not reckless. The show itself was of course silly.
  6. The FBI has long ago mined DZ for any useful insights. Most of the theories are based on loose circumstantial evidence (i.e. angry former military guy who comes into money around time and later confesses on deathbed... its a tired circumstantial case) .. yet DNA and fingerprints don't match....the Marla Cooper story has the same elements but came about in a quiet back channel manner.......just more credible in execution. I will say that experience or inexperience skydivers would make that jump if they were in dire straits. People who need money can be a force of nature in of themselves. I believe there will be further feedback later this week or next week. I am not in Marla Cooper's camp but know this investigation is moving hard.
  7. My understanding is that almost all of the main suspects on DZ have been categorically ruled out. The best way for some of these so-called suspects to gain validity in the investigation is to stop posting here and use back law enforcement channels. This Marla lady was, if anything, shrewd. Before the book was published, before any posting on this board or anywhere else, she worked very, very quietly through credible law enforcement channels. At that time she also subjected herself to a poly-graph test that was passed. Doesn't mean a lick since people believe their childhood memories regardless of their validity but it was the right steps. Having History shows and making thousands of postings online is to 100% wrong way to go about getting taken seriously by law enforcement and investigators.
  8. That is not at all accurate. There was not a match on one DNA profile - they are testing others. Trust me the FBI is still investigating LD Cooper as all the other known suspects have been ruled out.
  9. As I said before - there will be an announcement this week of furthering the LD Cooper investigation. Yes the FBI is looking to settle the case as all of the other suspects have been ruled out. The LD Cooper suspect came from quiet, back law enforcement channels. It is a very, very credible lead.
  10. The FBI is still testing LD Cooper's DNA and Fingerprints. He is the lead suspect being looked at. KC and Weber have been ruled out.
  11. THIs going to be a big week. The FBI is pushing this investigation of LD Cooper. Looks good and we should have a resolution to this case.
  12. The FBI is looking at the LD Cooper by the real evidence - fingerprint and DNA - as it should be. This case will be solved. The fact that there are so many clowns promoting a given suspect entirely on circumstantial evidence is sad - any intelligent person should know that. KC, Weber and all the other suspects are not Cooper. Heck Weber's DNA is not a match - period. He is categorically ruled out. THe Dectors show was such a farse - really. This former prosecutor is giving this guy in a motel room legal advice as the cameras were rolling. I howled with laughter. Rest assured the FBI is taking LD Cooper very seriously. THey will solve this with direct evidence despite the littany of crazies posting, blogging, youtubing, publishing on other suspects that have zero chance of being Cooper.
  13. There is more to it guys - trust me. This is not just another lady, relative that is hawking a book and looking to start posting every minute on DZ. BTW, saw a history channel program "Detector" and I laughed my ass off. Everyone thinks they have solved the hijacking with there relative or suspect of choice with a complete circumstantial evidence. What a joke. In one scene they took KC print and put under the sketch and all the paid actors had this "Ah Hah!" moment. Like case solved. Sorry without DNA, Fingerprints, a parachute or the money you are just another wannabee. This lead is different - trust me.
  14. You know you are all crazy right? Never seen such wacked bloggers. ABC news just had an interview of a lady whose uncle is DB Cooper. This house of madness can officially end. DB Cooper was LD Cooper out of Oregon. Case closed.
