i just bought a new container and reserve from them (for my first rig ) . since i am quite new to the sport i had a lot of questions and they answered all of them in great detail (over skype and email)
  5. well i am actually talking about a new rig and a new AAD (0 jumps on rig ). i was thinking to buy the gear in one place and the AAD another and then let a rigger install the AAD into the new gear. will they still have to do a repack even though the rig is brand new ?
  6. hi i am going to buy an AAD , either vigil or cypres. what are the pros and cons of each and which one would you recomend ? thanks :)
  7. i dont know if the correct word is "install" how long would it take if i show up with a add and a rig ?
  8. so is there any dropzone in europe you know of which does halo jumps ? since i live in spain cant realy visit any us dropzone doing halo jumps
  9. hi i recently found out that in germany you can do your aff with 14 years (source:http://www.fallschirmsportverband.de/index.php/unser+sport/Ausbildung )! i was surprised because 14 seems very young. in spain i did my aff with 16 which is also quite young but still there is a big difference between 16 and 14. what i ask myself is will a 14 year old kid be able to react quickly and make the right decisions in an emergency ? i am sure some 14 year old kids are probably ready for it, but i know i wouldnt have been at 14. i heard that when you have a malfunction and the canopy starts spinning very fast it requires a lot of force to cutaway (even with 3 ring system). will a 14 year old kid be able to cutaway and make that decision fast enough ? what do you think ?
  10. hi i found this shocking video ! http://www.iloveskydiving.org/view/videos/skydiving-naked-women-falling-from-the-sky/ [NSFW] a normal skydive but at the end there is one girl which apparently doesnt know how to deploy her main correctly and is also jumping without AAD. but she was lucky and survived ! i also noticed that all of the jumpers jump without altimeter ! anyone know the dropzone ? doesnt seem very safe to jump there if they let something like that happen blue skies
  11. ok :) and as pilot chute material , zero perosity, f-111 or standart ? what are the pros and cons of each ?
  12. hi is it worth getting a collapsible pilot chute for a sabre 2 170 ? how much faster would the canopy go with the pilote chute collapsed ?
  13. hi as you might have noticed i am posting quite a lot of gear related questions lately, i am looking to buy my first gear. now there is a problem, i was speaking with two instructors which offered to help me and i am getting different input. one is saying i should buy a 170 based on my wingloading and the other one is saying a 170 is way to big an a 140 is fine. so what should i belive now ? i weigh 65 kg (143 lbs) and i have 36 jumps blue skies
  14. thanks for all the replies ! 400 $ is still a lot but i guess it would be worth it. by halo jump i meant the 30000 ft with oxygen.
  15. yh :) but i read that a halo tandem is like 3000$ so the solo price will be similar i guess
  16. hi how much does it cost to do a halo solo skydive ? what are the requirements ? would be awesome to do one for my 18 th birthday, i guess its probably extremely expensive and requires at least d license or something, but i thought id ask anyway. blue skies
  17. ok thanks, ok well then i was given the wrong info i think i was give the wrong info since the size in square feet of the reserve was given as 180... i was wondering since i though the number " 140 " stood for the canopy size. well i allready thought that i shouldnt buy it but asking never hurts blue skies !
  18. hi i got an offer to buy a stellar 140 reserve for 250 euro ( 325 $ ) . the reserve is 23 years old but apparently in perfect condition (never used) 1) is this reserve safe for a unexperienced jumper 64 kg , 36 jumps ? 2)is a reserve still good after 23 years ? 3) is the price ok ? thanks for the help :)
  19. hi, i was told that a pdr 176 is a good choice as reserve for me, but i saw that the smart reserve is cheaper. i dont know a lot about reserves so i dont wana just buy the smart reserve 175 only to find out i cant jump with it for some reason. so is a smart reserve 175 similar to a pd176 ? i weight 64 kg ( from the wing loading it should be fine )
  20. hi, i recently found out that there is a wingsuit proximity simulator its called Skydive: Proximity Flight (pc xbox360) trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qdJp8MoLp-Y the problem is i cant find out where to buy it... does anyone know ?
