  1. Hi everyone, I've just started jumping (better late than never) and decided to keep it quiet from my current employers simply because I don't want them to have anything to say about it. They don't have a leg to stand on because they haven't invested in me but that's a different forum. Work to live, not live to work. However it's a very valid question that everyone should think about. It's all very good to want your ego tickled by everyone taking an interest in your cool hobby but does it mean you'll get discriminated against, or held back, because there is a greater chance you won't be in on Monday. it's something that should be considered.
  2. Hello, I'm starting training in May as well, up in Scotland. Landings yes! The rest appears easy, jump out a plane and fall. Not sure it's as easy as that. The AFF looks good with the instructors jumping with you. Basically means mistakes are sorted by someone on the way down. I'm doing static line... every jump is solo *gulp*. All the best with the AFF and maybe once we're licensed I'll join you for another charity jump. That would be cool.
  3. hey Oz, The Stirling club jumps from Strathallen as well! and has the exact same plane! and prices! eh? does not compute! Hope you get the money together bud!! I really do. It would be cool training along side someone.
  4. thanks skymama. Good to meet you.
  5. Kilt or No Kilt? :) a gentleman never tells. good to meet you Kiyami.
  6. first time in a plane even? no way man that must have been a right proper rush. Just for information here is the Strathallen club. It's near Gleneagles. http://www.skydivestrathallan.co.uk/ Thought they were the only place in Scotland. Good to know there is another.
  7. Hey how you doing oz1275? it's good to meet you... :) ... wow never expected that. I'm in Costa Del Renfrew. West side of Glasgow close to Ibrox. Are you going to be jumping at Strathallan?
  8. Well got to be honest and say the monkey did look after me. :) He was a top bloke. Hear you though, the tandem jump involved too much man touching for my liking. Nervous but also excited, and that's what it's all about. Pleased to meet you Flyerer. :)
  9. Hi everyone. Just joined. Only done a tandem jump before. It was amazing so decided to take the sport up. On a mission to get licensed this year and training for that will hopefully start in May but that hasn't been confirmed yet. It will be static line training and just a bit nervous about that since every jump will be solo. Cheers, Derek
