  3. Sorry it took so long for me to get the scores up, My computer was on the fritz and I just got it back up last night. I want to thank all the competitors for thier support of the CPC and we look forward to our next event at West Tennessee Skydiving. We will be featureing 2 min turnarounds on hop and pops out of the fastest jump plane in the country, Mike Mullins Super King Air! You better be ready to exit when you board because it will be fast rides all weekend long. All of the swooper watchers should make it out for this long weekend at West Tennessee we will be putting on a good show for every body! And I hear Rumour that Jeff Mullins will be making his grand re-entry into canopy Piloting. Who knows maybe we'll even get Charlie out for a few jumps! Hopefully Joel will be around to compete as well! See you guys at the end of the month! Peace. Free Flight is the way of the future! Learn how and get on board the adventure train!!

  5. Anyone interested in learning how to fly their canopy better is welcome to attend the Skills camps. We don't care if you have 10 jumps or 1000 jumps, we can help you land better and swoop further and more accurately. Please RSVP with Dave Hebert if you want to attend one of these camps. You can E-mail me at [email protected] or call me at 404-931-3880. Camp cost is only $50/day and the camps will run 2 days each. In the meantime Blue skies and safe swoops.Peace. 6. No, it is not dangerous to fly a smaller canopy, it only matters what wing loading you are flying. The idea of releasing the weight once you have gained speed is not very practical or useful seeing as how your swoop is only 3-4 seconds and the momentum of the weight is what carries you further. Either way, right now their may not be enough competitors for wieght classes but soon enough with all of the new up and coming swoopers in the CPC we may see weight classes before you know it! Peace. Free Flight is the way of the future! Learn how and get on board the adventure train!!
  7. The only answer to all this maddness with wieghts is to have weight classes and not allow any lead at all. I witnessed people jumping with upto 80lbs of lead, now this is just stupid, it is no longer a competition of who can fly better but a competition of who will wear the most lead! Seriously guys someone is going to get seriously injured if they hit the ground with 60-80lbs of lead on. Blue skies and safe swoops. Free Flight is the way of the future! 9. The CPC southeast region is currently seeking judges for the 2005 season. You will be paid nominal amount for services, but mostly you will get to hang out with some really cool people and make tons of new friends. The commitment will be for 5 events spread out over the summer throughout the southeast. Anyone interested please contact Dave Hebert @ [email protected] or call at 404-931-3880. Peace and Blue skies.
  10. Team Mirage came to the ground launch center after the canopy piloting nationals. We spent 4 days launching all of the local spots and managed to get 10 launches off some spectacular mountains, which by the way we hiked up each one in the hot california sun. But at the end of the day it was definitely worth the effort. We climbed more than 10,000 vertical feet and enjoyed some of the most spectacular views to be had in the Sierra mountains. The longest flight time had was 6 min 30 sec off of a 800 foot slope. The highest individual climb was 2000 feet and definitely challenged our climbing ability. The flights down the mountain faces were awe inspiring and as exciting as anything I have ever done. We were flying 2 feet off the deck carving back and forth traversing the rough desert terrain barely avoiding cholla cactus's and deadly joshua trees. We were blown away by the whole experience and will definitely be back for more hikes up the beautiful Sierra mountains! Free Flight is the way of the future! We are exited about what has happened at The Farm already this year and can only begin to speculate on how good it will get at The Farm this summer.
