  1. Hey thanks for that, What are we 1 and half years later and still enjoying a xfire. :)
  2. I will let you know when or if I get any other information and would be interested in any positive comments her surgeon had. If you could email me your girlfriends email address ( if she is happy to talk and happy for me to have her address ) that would be great. I dont even know anyone with an elbow replacement.
  3. If you are or know someone who is, can you tell me if an elbow replacement handles freefly speeds OK and cutaway's.I'm also interested in the time taken to get back in the air. I'm specifically asking about elbow's because A. that's what I need and B. elbow replacements are not as strong or as hardy as other's. Any help would be great
  4. I watched a vid of a BASE jumper go in with loose leg straps. Couldnt reach the pilot chute cos the rig was floating above her back.
  5. My smart 160 res had a sweet flare. My pd 126 also has a nice flare.
  6. Yeah your right thanks for the reply. I was going to make sure the reserve wasnt a tight fit for that reason, BUT I dont really want to find out, that was not fix for a problem. Cheers
  7. Demo canopies a scarce in Aus. The owner of the rig says he had a xaos 27 98 which is 10sqft of xbrace canopy larger than the upt chart says will fit. But as some one said a neos 109 was too tight. Well........ Thanks for the reply
  8. I have had a look at the container sizing chart and do know it is meant to have a 120 max but the ques is still the same. Cheers
  9. Does anyone know if a xfire 129 would fit in a vector 3 319 ?
  10. I had A member send me an email for a canopy exchange and When I replied I got a failure notice. email didnt send
  11. Thanks, yes I am doing something about it and thats why Im getting the trim specs and was just curious if anyone else has had the problem with vectran lines. Being such a stable line I was surprised. Maybe PD put the wrong control lines on. Anyway I will check the specs and fix it.
  12. Great advice, but I want to jump just a bit longer thanks.
  13. Thanks for your imput. The whole length of control line is vectran
  14. I have purchased a katana 120 with vectran 500 lines. 300 jumps on lineset and have made sure that there are no twists in control lines. I did aprox 450 degree front riser turn and at about the 320 mark the canopy bucked only once so on the next jump I looked up during the front riser turn and noticed that I had tail deflection from insufficiant control line length. Has anyone else had this problem. The control line length has not been shortened as far as I know. I will email PD for trim specs and advice. On my xfire I could pull the fronts all the way down without brakes being too short but have noticed PD dont leave anywhere near as much slack.Katana was attatched to 24" risers but temporarily have it on 21" but that should make no differance as from top of riser to brake setting are the same on all risers,of same make, right? Any imput appriciated.
  15. I have had a change of mind. Im flying the katana now and its a lot more full on than I thought it would be. I have heard that Michale Vaughn is running a canopy course for us, so I will jump on that course too and not have a predetmined jump number figure but a skill level to achieve before thinking about another canopy. To tell you the truth the next canopy is not in my mind anymore Im having sooo much fun on the katana..Ohhh and guess what Im not as good as what I thought I was. OK Im ready for bagging session now ! PS Im not a hyporchrit I just change my mind a bit is all
  16. Why the pay out. Please explain to me why would you say 36" I dont have 6 ft arms. If its a stupid question why do manafacturers offer 19,21 and 23" risers. I was under the impression that it was easier for riser imput the longer the riser as far as when the preasure built up. Please dont slag me off, educate me,
  17. Saw your and just wanted to say that I have ha two saffire 2s and they flare like shit compared to a xfire. I am not bagging you . The stronger the flare the easier it is to land and time the flare to end up at the slowest possible speed at the end of the flare.
  18. I'm wondering which risers to order, 23' or 24" for my katana 120. The person I bought it from had 24" risers. Can you also elaborate on why I should pick a particular length. I love to turf surf .And now for the people who are thinking that I didnt listen when I was told to put some lead on to jump my xfire 139. I tried that and my back and knees did'nt like it at all. I'm looking forward to peoples answers.
  19. Yes I said I would add lead to my xfire 139 but by back and weak knees didnt like it. I have a katana 120 and want to know should I go for 23' or 24" risers and why the choice you recomend
  20. Can someone please tell me how to measure the length of jav risers. I assume there is only one way to measure riser length unlike canopy size from make to make. Cheers people
  21. Hi I have owned a couple of xfires and they are nothing like a stiletto. Have gone for a katana 120 as adding lead to my xfire just tweaked my knees and back. As long as Im not running flat out I should be sweet WL 1.8
  22. Tried jumping with 15 to 18 lbs of lead but was tweaking my back and knees didnt like it so I ended up with a katana 120 and will hopefully go to a VX in about 400 jumps if my mentor reckons Im OK . I love my mentor, he said bite of more than you can chew and chew like f..k. All depends on how bad my arthritis gets in the mean time. If I have to upsize so be it. MY WL 1.8. Thanks for the advice, pitty it didnt work out with the lead
