  1. Thanks, I was banned for downwind landing. And added a record in my logbook. So, I'm not complaining, I'm just saying that it could be done more friendly way. Even when I come today, my question "which is load now" was answered by nasty guy "it's not her department" even if the "department" is one foot on the left. Thanks, it's just terrible and ugly.
  2. Hi brothers and sisters, I need line diagram with measurements, or may be ready-to-install lineset. I apreciate any references, charts, instructions etc. Service manual for the rig which is on FAA site does not have any information regarding the full line replacement procedures (except measure what you have and do the same). E.g. I have a canopy without lines :( Please, help. I appreciate. Thanks! --vintozver

  20. I passed a rigging course 2011 from ChutingStar and do not regret. Mike showed lot of packing, sewing and repairing techniques, we made lot of tools for ourselves during the course. Provided that the price is half lower than from others, I would strongly recommend to pass the course from Mike team. I liked «family» and good practice. They do not have slots available for 2012 year, but probably have extra slots if anybody cancels the registration. --vintozver

    Skydive The Farm

Perfect! I cannot even imagine that there's such dropzone in the world! I was picked up from airport by Mike Gruwell. Thanks, Mike! Perfect bunkroom, not problems with living there 2 weeks approx, friendly staff! Andy, thanks for spoon, fork, knife and can opener! Provided that you've been on boogie these days, I left the stuff in the refrigerator (see lower baskets). Dropzone is ultimately friendly, people do their work and enjoy it. No problems at all there! No stolen gear, no lies, no problems at all! I extremely recommend this DZ to anybody. If you have got little time - do not hesitate to visit STF and jump at least once. Looking forward to coming there again. Vitaly Greck, BELARUS
  22. .......................................................................... Steel T-bodkins are incompatible with electronic AADs, therefore are obsolete. You are far better off using the soft "Ghost Loops" that Jump Shack gives out for free. I struggled for decades to learn how to pack Pop-Tops, until a German rigger told me about his soft bodkins. I built a fancy, adjustable version, but fixed-length Ghost Loops will do the same job for one-tenth the effort as steel T-bodkins. To make your own Ghost Loops, all you need is a couple lumps of scrap iron (e.g any washer) and a bit of Cypres cord. Tie a loop, slightly bigger than you expect your final closing loop length. Repeat the process with the free end of the Cypres cord. That way your Ghost Loops are tied together, simplifying parts-count at the end of the pack job. If you want to further reduce your tool-count, finger-trap a (Cypres cord) pull-up cord to each Ghost Loop. A single Ghost Loop is all you need to close a Reflex or Teardrop. Thanks, friend! It's a real reason of getting rid of these tools ;) I will follow your instructions. Very helpful post. --vintozver
  23. I do not hold car driver license. This way, rental car is not a solution. What about auto-stop? Is it good idea to ask Mike or somebody from ChutingStar about picking me up in ATL? --vintozver
  24. +1 for ChutingStar. Gotta reach them for senior study and certification. Very satisfied of communication, any questions are answered, every (even crazy embassy problems) are sincerely solved. They provide much information about the course, about rigger/student ratio which is kept 1:1 if possible. Lot of payment methods are available. Much tools are in stock and ready for shipment ... the only question is location ;) I'm thinking about reaching them, but there's public transit there. Can anybody pick me up? ;) Will leave one more feedback upon course completion. Gotta visit embassy soon ... --vintozver
