  1. Compared to my sabre 2, theres no end cell closure to waste time dealing with, the openings are soft and on-heading (this never happened with the sabre 2 or electra).
Some would say the openings take too long (mine were always sub 1000ft with the standard D-Bag).
There are ways to address this:
    1. Dont roll the nose (theres no need with this canopy) and if you want quicker openings get a magnetic lazy bag (www.compal.be)....
Mine works a treat and gives me sweet openings, no line twists, and most importantly 'no Fecking bungees' :)
Theres plenty of flare power, harness input is sweet (not as good as the old electra loaded @ 1.25).
Front riser pressure is light compared to the sabre and electra. Recovery arc is nice 'n short.
Best semi-elip canopy on the market....

    Crossfire next :D

  2. Line over malfunction on jump #43... Deployed at 3.8K/ft tried to fly the canopy to 2800 before chopping. Chopped as I was spinning backwards and didn't have enough time to get stable before pulling as an RSL was connected! Nice big white canopy above my head, easy to steer, OK flare on landing with a 1:1 W/L, hopefully wont have to fly it again :)
    Good experience...

  3. Been using this canopy for the last 40 jumps with a 1.25 W/L.
The openings arent as snivelly or as long as a sabre2 or safire 2 and i always get a good jerk just as it finishes opening; I roll the nose each time.
Never get endcell closure like sabre 2's.
Canopy maintains good speed after turns, the front riser pressure is a tad heavy, but nothing a pump of the brakes wont sort. It even responds well to harness input and carves quite well.
    Openings are on heading.
I would definately recommend after flying similar safires and sabres.

  4. Excellent piece of kit. everything is programable from the DZ / aircraft, to the frequency and pattern of the canoy and FF alarms! I use it as a wrist alti (dytter in helmet) with the velcro wrist strap. It comes with a wrist mount, a back hand mount and two rubber protective cases.
Just like the neptune 2, the freefall display is easy to see and jumps are logged in the logbook.
USB interface means no additional infra-red recievers/etc and associated costs to view/upload your profile via paralog etc... Charge it with a wall socket adapter, computer/laptop or the 12v outlet in your car.
    5/5

    :)

  5. You can hear people in the plane because of the ear vents, the audible pouch works well - would be even better if it had two!
I have a 59cm head I ordered a 'L' because of my narrow head shape. Forehead was a bit tight at first, fits like a glove now.
    Getting it painted this week.

  6. Good, easy to read, functional dytter.
Customer service is legendary: if the screen breaks, they will send you another free of charge... cant ask better than that.
    Excellent 2nd hand buy.

  7. Cant help but feel its built for round headed people as its tight on my forehead and the chin guard is touching my chin! I have a narrow shaped 59cm head.
New visors are extremely tight to fit when new.... let them stretch for a night before trying to 'flip it'.
Skylatch is excellent and audible port on the outside means easy access to the pro dytter.
Looks cool with a dark visor :)
It cost me £99 a few days old - so cant complain!

  8. Top & pants finally arrived. Got measured in taupo at the factory shop and the waist was still a bit tight! Thankfully managed to stretch it to avoid posting it back for adjustment.
Quality feel with the heavy duty fabrics. Cordua double layer on the butt and knees are an essential and excellent, as is the thigh pocket on the pants.
Optional inside chest pocket on the jacket is flimsy.
Mini grippers are surperb - allowing easy docks on a FF suit. Non intrusive and worth the extra money.
Order FF pants with an extra inch in the inner leg for more bootleg type appearance rather than an obvious 'closed hem'. Velcro ankles and punch cuffs are the way forward.

Frapp hat is comfortable and looks cool (for a frap), audible pocket on the inside.

$740 NZD for 3 items! Phew...
