  1. Correct.... Trying them in US civilian court fully grants terrorist all US Constitutional guarantees. Which is ridiculous.
The Lockerby bomber committed no acts of terror on US soil. Zero. Yet he killed over two hundred American citizens. "There is no reason for him to be charged in a US court." Think that bullscat over. Terrs are enemy combatants on a global battlefield. When they are found they should be eliminated.
More drones, with bigger Hellfire missiles.:(

  2. Al Awacky was born in New Mexico to Yemeni parents. An anchor baby, in a fashion. His parents repatriated to Yemen some years later. I agree that Al renounced his membership as a member of civilized humanity. Ergo, the Hellfire missile is dandy by me. Two would have been better. Especially since he was targeting American citizens, everywhere. Alleged reports from the ground indicate that the three bodies were scorched totally.B|B|B|
The US is at War. This Neville Chamberlain attitude about legalities seems simplistic and childish to me. It's easy to ramble on about "them" or "they" when you are not personally one of the "they" or "them" who is put at risk carrying out the task of capturing or killing terrorists abroad. More Drones, and Hellfires get my vote.;)

  3. OK, then.......!
Who was going to go and arrest him? My son? You? Nope. Would Al Awacky go quietly? Nope. How would you deal with his enablers? The ones with AK's??
Oh wait....! I forgot about extradition from Yemen. A country in chaos. But OK... Getting into a court room would be a breeze. Getting a judge to sign off on his extradition would also be no sweat. And while the world waits on the Yemeni judicial process to grind, how many more terror acts would he plan and place in operation? I believe the risk to innocent lives, American, and European, is way too great to wait on some stiff with a briefcase.

  4. It would seem your argument, while commendable, is not reality based. The Constitution extends no farther than US borders. You know that Chicago's O'Hara Airport, while land locked, is a point of entry. A US border point. You know that warrantless searches are conducted there daily.
Despots and tyrannical governments do indeed use the law and legality to their advantage.
Saddams Bathist Tribunals that executed 100's of thousands. "Legally".
Saudi Arabia's "legal" butchery of citizens for what would be misdemeanors elsewhere.
    Russia's Siberian Gulags... "Legal"
I won't begin on the horrors in Africa. All "Legal"
These events are current and on going. All "Legal".
Sadly. the real world feeds on decent peoples who think the law will be the end all. Remember Auschwitz?

  5. You bet my reality is subjective. I've been in a shooting event. Very difficult to be objective with high velocity bullets flying around. Very noisy, too.
Sir Thomas More would be proud of your attitude. That's also the same type of airy rhetoric that allowed Hitler to legally gain power. Despots hide behind that type of thinking. Brush up on your Thomas Jefferson, counselor.

  6. Exigent circumstance..... There was no way to make adequate service of process, so BO issued a bench warrant, which was "taped to the warhead of a hellfire missile." Ergo... Process served. Three dead enemy combatants to boot. Same-oh, same-oh.
Ethnicity, and Nationality all go by the wayside in a shooting event. The US Military has various nationalities in uniform, but to the enemy, they are all the same. Americans.
So far, there has been a serious shit load of death served up to practically every mid-eastern nation whose citizens decided it would be a hoot to try to kill some Americans.
When the shooting starts, very little else matters except the uniform one wears. That's reality, not lofty classroom moralizing.

  7. To focus narrowly, as you are doing, is to miss the greater view. Nit picking deflects the conversation to a different direction.
Labor laws, broadly, not all, are geared to protect companies from labor organizations. Ethnicity has no value in the work place, except to be used as a tool by corporations, as a defense, after a complaint of bias has occurred.
EEO compliance is a non starter. Unless a complaint has been lodged, or the corporation is under judicial orders, or employee contract talks are underway, then, does the "ethnic balance" data become useful. That is how employees, and the consumer get screwed. Happens every day.

  8. Demographic data also includes geography, population density...etc. An allegation of non compliance usually follows some act that appears to be unfair or biased.
    This discussion was about ethnicity.
If a corporation is alleged to be in non compliance, or in any litigation having anything to do with employees, if you think they won't use that data first to defend their position and to bolster their position as non-biased, you are indeed mistaken.
If you also believe that the data will not be used in employee contract negotiations, then you are again very, very mistaken. B|

  9. After weeks of training at the US Army Airborne School at Fort Benning, we all thought that we were not yet ready. The Jump School Commander gave us a speech saying that we probably thought so. But we were ready. Forget the Tandem; enroll in your AFF course and start enjoying the world of skydiving. It's a whole new reality.;)
