You're not ugly. Heck, you're not even in the bottom 50%! Why are you so down about your looks?

I'm not down on my looks and I'm not looking for compliments. I just figure us less-than-perfect people can all get naked and bump nasties .. leaving the pretty people out.

I was just curious if anyone would claim the Ugliest Skydiver title. Also, I wonder who has the most ghetto rig here.

  2. That reminds me of when I was a dumb kid about 25 years ago.

One Halloween, we decided to whack some mailboxes by hanging out of the car window and swinging at them with stuff. My friend had the only baseball bat, so I elected a one-way tire iron.

On my first swing, the driver slowed down to about 35 and I hung out to smash this big giant mailbox that looked like a miniature barn. It turns out, the thing was made out of plastic.

The tire iron bounced off the mailbox, then off my head .. almost putting my eye out. Instant karma is a bitch. My dome was on swole for 3 weeks.

I still have a scar above my right eye from it. Every time I look at a mailbox, my temple throbs.

  3. My AFF #3 was terrible also. 1 and 2 were beautiful, but they almost made me repeat number 3.

I had a slight cold and didn't feel well and almost decided not to jump because of it. I didn't want to get ridiculed for wimping out with only 2 jumps under my belt, so I went up. My exit was horrid, I couldn't get stable which caused me to barely be able to get my objectives complete within altitude.

I have since learned that if I'm not 100% feeling good, I'm staying on the ground despite what the local skygods might think about me.

Also, my instructor suggested I take a deep breath right before exit to help with relaxing and it has worked wonders for quick stability.

I am a Radiologic Technologist working Interventional Radiology and Cat Scan, glorified button pusher

I'm a CT tech too Tiger. Unfortunately, I've been a manager for the last few years and spend most of my time wrapped up in paperwork or bitching at the techs that work for me because they're button pushers :p~

    Gloves every time now.

I'd like to wear gloves but I'm concerned about not being able to feel the hackey well enough. I haven't researched it yet, but I'm guessing there are some very thin polypropylene or goretex gloves that don't inhibit movement or tactile sensations too much.

Anyone got a particular glove they can recommend ?
