  1. Care to explain yourself then?
Una volta che avrete imparato a Volare, camminerete sulla terra guardando il cielo perchè è là che siete stati ed è là che vorrete tornare.

  2. Well I see a comma... so I understood as two different events... the track and the head down.

For me, a track is a maneuver that you use to reach maximum horizontal speed with minimum vertical speed... but maybe that's the old school thought.

If he meant a head down track.... and such thing exists, then I misunderstood him.

... and a max 217 mph+ (In a track, and in a head down body position)...

If that's your fall rate in a track, you need serious instruction on how to track.

  4. I have a very good 4-way camera friend that works over there (Edson Pacheco). He was the one that produced the video about team evolution.
I can send you his contact if you want.

Not sure if I'm understanding you correctly but, since when? It's list on the SkyLeague rules pages

There is some talk on this thread about possible small changes being considered at the IPC meeting in January?

Uh-oh... now it is I who didn't understand...

What is on their page? If it's the reference by letters and numbers, yes... it helps compressing the communication. It's much easier to say 9-P-21 than the figure names. But it's no good for logbook, since some figures change over time (I don't remember that piver-viper 10 years ago). Hammer hammer is something relatively new as well (12 years?)...

    Cheers!

  6. Exactly like the side flake opal, but without the external grip.

    See photo attached...

  7. Nope... I just went through my logbook and found out the figure name. It's "crazy".

It doesn't exist anymore in the IPC divepool. That's why I don't like memorizing letters and numbers... they change over time!

  8. I don't have any photos of it, so I will describe...

Imagine this: you see two guys in a compressed accordion. The center guy is in this 2-way compressed and his right hand is gripping the left of the 3rd guy, and the left hand of the 4th guy is gripping the right leg of the center guy...

It's not in the IPC dive pool anymore.

BTW... any place with all the versions of 4-way dive pools?

Wow...it only took your 1200 jumps and 14 years in the sport to get your A license. ROCK ON!!!
    ;););):D:D

    Weird hunn?

I was cat. 'E' in Brazil, but I don't know where my card is... the DZO said he couldn't let me jump in Elsinore without a USPA licence, even though I'm a USPA member... so he was very kind to do my A license on the spot.

I didn't submit the paper to USPA yet.. I guess the best thing to do is to submit all paperwork up to cat. D.... so that's what I'm gonna do.

But at least I have my cat. A for now... yeeeeey

    Sorry, I can't concentrate on what you're saying.... it's your avatar's fault.

  11. Or not!

I went to elsinore this weekend for some 4-ways... for my surprise, I thing more than 90% of everybody that was there was doing RW.

There was a large group of old timers doing some big ways... from what I saw, some decent size formations from two twin otters....

There was Mel and I think two more L.O. doing the EXCEL basic camp (nice to meet you Mel!) and from what I saw, that was a huge success...

There was another group doing big ways, the latin skydivers I believe... jumpsuits and canopies with Mexico flag colors and all!

It was my first time in Elsinore and I couldn't have been treated better. People there are very friendly and the atmosphere is great!

Thanks lob for my A-License... hurrayyyy!! I'm not a student anymore B|

Thanks Ryan for the help and letting us use your team room!

    Cheers and peace!

I'm not into tats but that is just plain bad-ass amazing because it's 4way and not some swoopin' FF'ing image. Not that there is anything wrong with those but your tat shows that BELLY AIN'T DEAD yet and that's B|

Well, for me it will never be dead... even if I have to do 1-ways :)

  13. After a few months carrying my tattoo around (didn't really liked the first one), I found a guy in the dropzone that is a really good skydiver and a really good tattoo artist (well, a really good artist let me say). His name is Ron, his website is http://www.witchdoc.com

I've shown him my tattoo and told him I wasn't happy with it. He said he could fix it. Well, he did and I'm really happy with it now... I guess I can show it off now.

    Now I can say that:
    - It shows what's "inside" of me
    - Fellow skydivers now can see what equip. they are using
    - The last cat man has a head now
    - More detail all over the place

    And yes, it hurts...

  14. People in boituva are pretty used to receive foreign visitors, I don't think you'll have language problems.

On another note, if you want some nice quality jumps, contact these guys:
    http://clubedotr.com.br/

They are from optimum skydive team (current national champions) and they regularly organize jumps in boituva.

Fabio and Andre are really great with people and I'm sure they'll point you into the right direction.

    Cheers

  15. Campinas is in boituva now :)
Boituva is a conglomerate of multiple schools and DZ's.

I've been there less than a month ago... jump was R$85 and conversion rate was $1.80... then this how financial mess broke loose and the dollar jumped to $2.10+

I didn't have to present anything (boituva used to be my home DZ and I know everyone there), but if I were you I'd take my logbook and credentials (uspa, whatever)

tell me what do you plan to do there (rs, freefly, etc) and I can help putting you in contact with the right people.

  16. I honestly doubt a VRW judge would be listening to electronic (or any type of) music...

if the sport requires certain grips, and the judge judges by seeing those grips, try to guess what happens if he doesn't...

  17. I just uploaded a video of my first static line jump back in 1993...

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kIruDF3qHv8

nothing special. but I've included a soundtrack in the background.

In less than 5 minutes of my posting, I received the following email from youtube:

  19. Looking for a group of people to make some exciting 4-way (or 8-way) jumps in the AA to AAA level.

Dropzones I can reach are San Diego, Perris and Elsinore.

I'm looking for people with the following skills:

    - Have fun while 4-waying
    - Competitive experience in 4-way or 8-way
    - Avg 8 points or more in 4-way

The idea is to call each other before a weekend, set a meeting place, a few jumps (ideally 4) for one day and have fun. This could lead to one or more teams to compete on next year's skyleague, but without the stress of a very commiting (hey, I'm married) training schedule.

I've notice that it's becoming more and more difficult to find people with these conditions laying around the DZ, so if we could set up a group with similar intentions, that would be money right there.

  20. Yeah yeah... just took the test and fail by 3 questions... I guess I'll have to read the manual ;)

Now, WTF do I have to know how much fuel the airplane must have for a jump run?
