HaHa !! All of us locals loved the chickens on the T-shirts . We do have a wild chicken festival this weekend and we do have alot of wild chickens running around Fitzgerald, and they are freakin beautiful birds. Youre damn right !! We use parachutes to save our lives, not to kill ourselves. There is plenty of room at this airport to land on. The swoopers can have a designated landing site as well as non swoopers. We shouldnt have any problem as long as everyone follows the correct procedures . Blue Skies

A little of history for ya. A man by the name of Davis Sims D-242 opened what was said to be the very 1st DZ in Georgia in 1959 in Fitzgerald GA . He and Mr. Gene Paul Thacker have some memories from what i've been told. I was also told that Davis had a state accuracy meet at Fitz in the 60s or early 70s and there was a photo of the letters USPA that was wrote in the pea gravel pit. And we've been jumping ever since. A friend of mine has, what is said to be the one of the 1st, if not the very 1st rig to ever be in freefall in the sate of GA, Davis' 1st rig . im gonna try to have it on display St. Pats day, as well as some other relics. SORRY BOUT THE LONG ASH POST!!!
