    Sean Connery aside (ooohhh yeah) I remember being in Europe in my early 20s. Even when the accents were really heavy, I had no problems understanding people in Ireland or England, But Scottland? There were times we would have to ask 3 different people for directions before we got an answer we understood! Still sexy though!


    i am scottish, and i understand what you mean about people not bein able to understand the scottish accent, i have to repeat myself quite a few times when asking for things at different stores, but on the other hand i do get a lot of women telling me that my accent is sexy, plus its good for getting free cookies from subway!!:D:D:D

    but i would have to say my favourite is irish!

    plus i get mistaken for being english, irish and australian a lot too!;);)

    ur goddamn right i was dancing round the living room, being a very proud scotsman myself!!! bit the thing about this show was that i had an on going arguement with my friend who stays in new york, who is descended from the zulu's (as he puts it), about who would win, needless to say, i won, and as soon as i stopped dancing round the room, i got my ass on the xbox an started winding him up about it, all he could say was that it was bullshit! i call that a sore loser! :)

    and for anyone that is interested in seeing the show, it usually airs on spike tv on tuesday nights, at 10pm, but this coming sunday there is a special episode entitled, terrorist vs terrorist, IRA vs the taliban, airing at 9pm, i will be siding with the IRA on that one! oh an there are repeats most of the day sunday starting from 1pm, of most of the past episodes, so if you havent seen it, check them out!!!

  5. i was walked in on one time by my mother, i didnt stop tho, just told her to put the kettle on an i would be out in a bit, think she was more mortified than my girlfriend at the time!!!;););)

    i also walked in and caught my dad doin his present wife doggy style on the couch, he didnt stop either, just gave me a thumbs up, to this day she still doesnt know about it!

    also got caught having sex outside with my girlfriend over the hood of a car by my step mum, an 2 step brothers, now that was the most embarassing one for me because she stopped an asked me wot i was doing, as if it wasnt already obvious!!!;););)

    A prok steak? Is there another name for that cut in the store? I don't think I've seen anything like that, or else I haven't noticed. Bone-in or boneless?

    I'll try it, but I'll have to find where they sell English mustard and fresh ginger. I don't think they have that at the Super Wal-Mart I go to!



    i try to use pork that is boneless, but the choice is completely up to yourself, u can also buy ginger puree from wal mart it does the samw thing, an you can use french mustard if you like, it just a recipe, feel free to change things up a bit!;););)

  11. this thread was inspired by a different thread, just thought i would share my creation!

    i have been a chef for nearly ten years now an i like to make my own recipes with whatever i hav in the kitchen at the time, i came up with this an everyone that tried it loved how it tasted!

    so please feel free to try it yourself,

    HONEY AND MUSTARD PORK, WITH COATED ROAST POTATOES, SERVED WITH A FRESH GREEN SALAD...

    (INGREDIENTS)
    1 handful of fresh cilantro.
    4 to 5 tablespoons of dijon mustard.
    4 to 5 tablespoons of english mustard.
    2 large cloves of garlic.
    1 half inch cube of fresh ginger.
    7 or 8 tablespoons of olive oil.
    5 or 6 tablespoons of fresh honey.
    2 or 3 large boneless pork steaks
    6 or 7 large red potatoes.
    2 bags of fresh salad, (any kind of salad will do)
    4 tablespoons of mayonnaise.
    4 tablespoons of white wine.
    handful of chopped chives

    (RECIPE)

    finely chop the ginger and garlic and cilantro,
    add to a large mixing bowl with the olive oil, english mustard, dijon mustard and honey,
    stir until mixed well,
    add the pork steaks to the mixture and set aside in the fridge over night, making sure they are completely coated,

    (you can set them aside for a few hours if you like, but i hav found that leaving them over night increases the flavor)

    heat the oven to between 400 and 450 degrees, and place the steaks and mixture into a large baking tray, turn every 5 mins till halfway cooked,

    half, quarter, or cut the potatoes into 6, depending on their size, and par-boil them until they start to go slightly soft,

    when at this stage, drain the potatoes an add to the tray with the steaks, making sure to turn them in the juices, until evenly coated,

    continue to turn the steaks and potatoes in the juices in the tray until the steaks are cooked to the way you like them,

    while this is happening, empty the bags of salad into a bowl, finely shred the chives and add to a mixing bowl with the mayonnaise and white wine, and mix well, season to taste, you now have a quick and easy ceasar salad dressing for your salad, add enough for personal taste,

    then all you gotta is serve!!!

    i hope if you try this recipe you will give me feedback on what you thought of it, after all "you cant be a chef if you cant take criticism"

    I have really become interested in photography and more so, video in the last 2 years.. or around that timeframe, so...At the request of a friend I have started trying to make small cooking "how to's"

    This is one of my first, attempts at public speaking..
    I have no script, no notes, improv from start to finish..

    you did pretty good! only thing is, if your goin to do that an want people to try the recipe, you hav to give better information on the process of the recipe, all you seem to be doin is letting everyone know wot you are doin with the ingredients in one word comments, you started of by tellin people wot you were putting together,an how much they should use, then it went flat from there, i am not saying this to be a dick, coz you stared of well, an i am gonna try the recipe coz they looked awesome! pretty good for a first attempt with no script tho!;)
