  1. Thanks blink. I tried to bid on the one pair but i got out bid at the last second by .50 cents. Still looking for some old non air worthy risers... This is pushing it but perhaps someone has an old dead container???
  2. i was looking through the classifieds. they do have some risers in there. i looked on ebay but they were all Airborne style WWII.
  3. thanks Jerry. So i guess all i need now is a matching set of risers. Yes i understand that i worn older canopy will be easier.
  4. I had an interview about a month ago at National City Bank. They asked "whats the most frightening thing you've done?" and i said stepping out of an airplane for the first time. I didnt get that job because of my lack of customer service skills and what not, but they asked me a million questions about it and said how they always wanted to do it but now they are 45 and have kids and can no longer try it. I then interviewed with New York Life and didnt mention it. Mainly because there was no need to since there were no questions that pertained to it. I did get this job and Im typing from my desk right now. One cool thing I think if you metion it, is it shows that your a somewhat daring and unique individual.
  5. I've acquired a PD170, thanks Nick btw. I need some old dead risers a bag and some steering toggles to attach to so I can work on proper line storage and what not. If anyone has any of these lying around collecting dust i'd gladly take them off your hands. I'll pay the shipping. I'll throw in a couple bucks for your time as well if you want. Direct email is [email protected]. Thanks in advance. Ken
  6. I'm 100% all about safety. If someone tells me its no good then I will listen to that. There is a guy who just emailed me and is willing to send one off. Thanks by the way im not sure what his user name is on here. Its a PD170 and I currently fly a PD300. Even if it was "airworthy" i couldnt use it anyways. He said he will pull the label off too so it would be no good in that fashion as well.
  7. They are going to teach me. Very soon in fact. I just want to get proficient at the folding and stowing of lines at home. If that makes sense. I'm the new guy.
  8. I finally got to do my first Clear and Pull. A couple more and i'll be starting to learn to pack my own gear. I was wondering if anyone on these boards has an unairworthy canopy that they can part with? I would like to be able to practice my folding away from the drop zone since i'm about an hour and 10 min away from it. It would be great if they still had the lines attached. Thanks in advance. Direct email is [email protected]
  9. Weight limit at my DZ is 250 i belive. I'm about 235 and just did my first clear and pull. I jump a 300 canopy and landings are fine. I did the static line way though. See if you can do that instead of the AFF.
  10. I'm Ken from Ohio. I've been jumping at Skydive Ricks over in Petersburg, OH. I'm new to the forums. Very familiar with forums though. Spend a lot of time at pwctoday.com Anyhow I just graduated from my static lines. 6 Static Lines and I did my clear and pull which is my 7th jump. What a difference between the two. I yelled so loud (because i was excited (woo hoo kind of deal)) when my canopy opened on my clear and pull that everyone heard me from the ground! Anyways I look forward to talking to all of you. Thanks Ken
